A HUGE thanks to Paradox. As far as I am concerned CK2 is the best game ever made. hopefully CK3 will be as good or better. Here are some suggestions for making the map and graphics more immersive.
In order to give the map more life, ambient flavour graphics and other little feature graphics could be added.
-add farmlands
-add animals, birds, deer life stock etc
-add festivals, such as midsummer
-add decorative roads and paths
-add little rocky outcropping and rock formations off coastal waters
-add ambient trading ships, fishing boats, caravans, carts etc
-add some unique looking trees, hills, mountains and lakes which are a little less procedural looking than the basic ones
-add some localised effects to give atmosphere. For example the deep forests could be made to look mysterious with a little fog.
In order to make locations seem a little more unique you could add the ability to have unique 2d background images that can be seen in the left game panel for each county. Even if you do not create unique images yourself, you could make it easily modable so that users can populate all counties with beautiful graphics.
Find some way to make terrain map view viable to use as the primary way to play the game. Perhaps add borders and subtitle kingdom colouring. Many of us play in political map mode and miss out on the beauty of the map.
