so has anyone managed to get my templates to work for them? If so, what do you think?

If you haven't managed to get it working for you, tell me why and I'll try and fix the problem ASAP :)

Yes, he earns a little feed-back thread for himself :D

I like it very much, very good job :D

If you want critiscism I can say that it would be nice if the patterns actually follows the waving flag better, instead of a chance in colours, but maybe I'm asking for too much...

Anyway, I love it :D

I've found your shield template quite helpful, despite the glitch with the gray-out layer not being properly imported. The flag template isn't particularly useful to me; I can't use Photoshop scripts at all. :( (I also feel like I owe you an apology - whenever I post about something related to your work, it seems like it's about some shortcoming or other. I really do think the vast majority of what you've done is of excellent quality, even if it doesn't look like that from what I've written.)

Yes, the flags are not grayed out as they should be, do you have any idea how to fix that?
You mean flags covered by the fog of war? The only way for those to be dimmed properly is to quantize them down to the 8-bit flag palette. 24-bit flags don't get dimmed. I personally think it's a better deal than going to the 8-bit palette and getting three shades of tan where I've originally rendered ten of orange.

For consistency, it might be worth converting all of the flags to 24-bit format, so none get dimmed. If nothing else, it'll be easier to tell at a glance who controls what province.

(For the record, I'd meant his shield template, not the flag - when imported into Gimp, the layer that makes the last shield on the right grayscale for refused trade gets lost.)

Maybe MKJ should think of that in his flags release.

Well, I get told I'm insane at least once a day, but in this case it's not warranted. :) I'm not aiming to redo all the flags - just run a script that loads a flag, converts to rgb mode, recolors background to green, and saves again. I've been meaning to puzzle out Gimp's scripting features anyway. Maybe when work slows down in a week.

It'd go over better in AoN than in general use - I'd think people would be using too many custom flags from too many sources for it to be practical in the normal scenarios.

Please do!

I simply refuse to pirate PhotoShop, but can't justify buying it just to make EU2 stuff, and desperetly want to try out MKJ's templates...
