Few questions

Just a few random questions. I'd appreciate any answers or directions on where to find answers. Thanks in advance!

1. I've recently started to experience a crash to desktop when playing CORE mod. I've had the mod for awhile, the newest version, yet never experienced this.

2. Is there a quick save button that I can use. Currently I just let it auto save every 3rd month, though with these crashes I may move up to monthly.

3. If I seal off the Mediterranean by getting Gibraltar and Suez, can my enemies still get ships through?

1- New to me, to be honest. So I'm afraid I can't help you there, unless you're able to give more details.
2- Not that I know of.
3- Maybe Historyman can answer that one.

When you say "ships", do you mean actual naval vessels ? Or do you mean supply convoys, etc ? My understanding is that Submarines (but not surface vessels) may be able to pass the "block points" in any case, and that convoys will still run through those sea zones (obviously leaving a very easy target). This is for an AI opponent - human opponents may find it trickier, since the AI is well known to cheat and do things that the player can't.

I know that convoys can get through. There seems to be no way to cut off something completely. I was nocking out freighters left and right with my subs, but Malta still got resupplied. How irritating. I just had to invade and take care of it.

I'm wondering if when I seal of the Med, will ai naval units be able to get in and out?

Surface units will be stuck, basically, and potentially stuck without a port, depending on who else might be in the Allies.
