Summary

Find Spouse / Arrange Marriage screen misses some inheritable traits.

Description

The Find Spouse and Arrange Marriage interfaces do not show all the inheritable Physical Traits for the candidate, if the candidate already has three Personality Traits. If the candidate is still a child and therefore has less than three Personality traits, then all the Physical traits are shown. This behaviour is problematic when the player is carefully breeding towards the Strengthen Bloodline achievement, and so it matters to match the right marriage candidates together. This imperfect reporting behaviour is not obvious, and no tooltip flags up that some traits are missing.

Steps to reproduce

Create an Adult Unmarried character with 3 Personality Traits and Two Physical traits. Then use the Arrange Marriage interface and find that person.

In the Find Spouse and Arrange Marriage lists, this guy Frirekr is nice but nothing special. But he is actually pretty special if the player is breeding towards Strenghen Bloodline.

At a guess, there is some kind of space constraint in the row of the Arrange Marriage list. The icons seem to shuffle to the left, but there is still a lot of room to the right after the Culture. The only other thing I have seen further right, is the alliance potential icon, which justifies to the right. Is this about tolerating really long hybrid culture names? Maybe the culture name needs to be moved up next to the age and healthiness heart, and then more of the trait icons can be shown.

This guy Sorkvir has one of his personality traits missing in the marriage list. Presumably because of the two physical traits. But the behaviour here is wrong in a different way from the Frirekr example. At a guess, the Albinism physical trait bumped off one of the personality traits. Maybe the negative traits always get shown.
