I have a very urgent question. I've recently downloaded the 1.3 patch and my buddy has the same version as me. We are having a LAN and I can't join him. I can see his servername but I can't click on the name to join. The same thing happens when I host; he can see me but can't click on the name.
 
Have you turned off the firewall? (Norton internet security or windows firewall, ect.)

Please! It's very urgent! I can really use some advise concerning this problem. Me and a couple of my buddies can't join each other. We can see the server in the pull down menu, but we can't select the server. (It stays grayed out.)

As shadow kotten said its probably due to the fact that the host is behind a firewall. IIRC we had that problem too. You need to switch off the firewall or allow connections from the connecting computers ip.

all firewalls are off, that shouldn't be a problem.

You can clearly see that the server name is grayed out and that I can't select it.

I'm most grateful for your efforts (unlike others who tend to ignore me), but since nobody replied for such a long time; we just de-installed HoI. It appears that there is (still) an error in one of my core files*; but I will have to report this in the tech forum. Other than that, we succeeded in playing/conquering together after we installed HoI again. (Ahhh)

*An error which prevents me from de-installing HoI, I can't even do it manually.
