Well done! This is certainly worthy of BT's first expansion, making pre and post campaign more enjoyable and replayable. I do hope that HBS will now begin "Developer Diaries", sharing the planned content details, allowing feedback prior to the cake being put into the oven, or atleast before rising too much.

I suspect there are additional features planned for this expansion that just haven't been formally announced yet...

Thanks for the screen shots Honorknight.
We should all already know this since it's what they told us but this helps with a visual so it can be shared. :D

Just enough to get us interested, games tend not announce everything on the media opener.
The cutting room floor was not kind prior to Launch. Some prudence here is understandable.

Also, if they start PDX-style weekly Dev Diaries, they'll need something to talk about over the next few months...!
WEEKLY!

Dear HEAVENS, my heart couldn't take it.

Though, I should try my best to soldier on through such a BATTLETECH deluge of information. : )

Heh. I take you you haven't looked much into the CK2/EUIV/HoI4/Stellaris/Imperator: Rome forums, then...?

The grand strats get a Dev Diary each every week (save for SOMETIMES during the summer), on a given day even. (I:R => Monday, EUIV => Tuesday, HoI4=> Wednesday, Stellaris => Thursday, CK2 => Friday.)

Now, whether HBS could manage something to that level is another matter.

I looked to Surviving Mars, as a game that launched so very close to when BATTLETECH launched. There was 13-14 weeks between SM's Dev Diary's number 10 and 11.

It was this that I though might be BATTLETECH's Dev Diary periodicity... maybe at best monthly.

But the idea of weekly Dev Diary Entries from Kiva is growing on me, I needed to get that heart medicine prescription filled anyway. : )

So, since Steam already has a Flashpoints page to drool over, how soon will GOG have it too and, more importantly, when will I be able to pre-order it??! :D
This is really important, you know, so I can know in advance whether I'll get Flashpoints or another DLC/expansion for Stellaris. :p

I'm pleased to see this DLC under development and that it will be available soon. While the specific content announced may not scratch every itch with the game, I am happy to support the further development of BattleTech! I am most pleased to see that it will feature a blend of new mechs, new strategic elements (new biome, new mission types) AND new story expansion elements. While these will be "short stories" rather than a full campaign expansion, I am REALLY happy to see all three of these elements included in the first DLC expansion!!! I look forward to getting my hands on it!

Glad to hear it. Honestly, I don't find much reason to play this game after the campaign. Just keep accruing C-Bills I can't spend? Be a roving MW academy getting another class of pilots to all 10 skills? You know it's bad when you recognize most of the maps and know where to go to camp your Bulwark'd Assault Mechs.

Bulwark is way to OP. Why would bracing make a laser hit less hard? Its sad when the game just devolves to park and shoot, terrain doesn't matter, and you just pray that RNGesus doesn't slap your guys in the head every 5th shot while waiting for your morale to reach enough to target a bad guy's whatever to nuke him in a turn.

Oh my gosh! I’ve done just that. I don’t think of it quite like that but for a time it motivated me through a week or so of post Campaign gaming. : )

Alright, regarding the changes to the shop UI:

What was even the point of relocating the clickfest from the SELL button to the + button? Would a slider have been too much to ask? I still need to click hundreds of times to unjunk my inventory of heat sinks.

In some P-dox games they add the ability to shiftclick, ctrlclick and ctrlshiftclick on those kinds of buttons for added multipliers (and rightclick to go to "max" or "min" right away) which allows for more fine-tuning about exactly how much you want to move than what a slider would do.

So if HB ain't there yet, this might still be a step in that direction.

Good point. If HBS changes the scale and placement of Hardpoints, they would be well on their way to a second Melee-weapon-wielding, home-grown BattleMech! : )

Who needs a Treb when you have a 55 ton mech with 2xLRM10x 2xMEDLAS

And an Axe

Should call it the Hatchy.
Colors are much more vibrant in the Mechlab now too. Hatchy Pink, might now be a thing. : )
