Just got the game today and I'm wondering what a good first nation to play as is? Preferably something that is secure enough so there is room for error while still being able to experience as much of gameplay as possible.

Denmark is a nice small kingdom fairly isolated from the big troubles but still with some pagan nearby to bash and the likely-to-disintegrate Holy Roman Empire to the south for plunder.
