Fix the game already

[questionable strategy]

I started a new game as west francia from 867 a few weeks ago. I played with Ironman off because I know about the risk of the save disappearing. I have been manual saving with several rolling saves as a precaution. My game was going well, I had a few crash on save infrequently but nothing major until today.

Since starting I had formed the empire of Francia and married my heir with the byzantines so our empires merged.

Today when I started it was around 1190, first the game froze twice when trying to open the county build menu. I had to restart both times. Then every time I tried to save the game crashed on save. I tried restarting the console, shutting it down and then back on. Did not matter.

I am playing on the ps5. I do not care about when the next dlc is coming, do not care about fate of iberia or tours and tournaments. I want a working game. The game had less problems before Royal Court, I could actually play till 1450.

It's not gonna happen, Paradox hired an incompetent company to port the game to save money. They can barely get the game to work and everytime they "fix" something, features get axed, the game gets uglier and runs slower to compensate their inability to optimize this mess.

I wish it was possible to roll the game back a couple of updates, to just before RC. I think that would fix this mess for a number of players.

I’m thinking of buying this game for PS5. Is it worth it or is it really a buggy mess. I mean it’s been out for nearly 2 years on PS5 right?

It's not worth it, unless you are very patient and don't mind losing progress or the entire game, save your money.
Maybe if you find it with a heavy discount.

Is it worth it: yes, the game itself is awesome and very fun.
Is it really a buggy mess: yes, a lot of stuff is plain broken, and sadly we haven't heared anything from the dev team for months

In my opinion it's worth it, if you can play it on a computer, but i would wait to buy it on console and see if anything gets fixed

I already have it on Mac but I want to complete it on PS5. I’ve heard from multiple people this game is a mess and the devs are seemingly not making a huge effort to fix it. So I’m staying well clear for now.
