So apparently in 1.21 patch the Polish dynamic province names from my old thread have finally been added to the game. However, since the time I made that thread, a few new provinces have been added and I've also made some additional research which brought me to the conlusion that the Polish dynamic province names need to be updated once again. Here's the list of the suggested changes/additions:
After doing some research I found out that some provinces didn't need Polish dynamic province names in the first place as the default names were fine. Here's the list:
Tagging @Trin Tragula just to be sure you see this thread. I attached the .txt file for your convenience (also, fixed the order as it was a bit messed up)
- Neumark (49) => Santok (Santok was an old Polish fortress next to which the city of Landsberg was built. Apparently it was still important in the EU4 timeline; this one should be a priority because right now we have 2 provinces called Lubusz when owned by Poland)
- Constantinople (151) => Carogród (Polish version of the name Tsargrad, a Slavic name for Constantinople used in multiple Slavic languages. Currently, Russian and Czech cultures use that name so why wouldn't Polish culture use it as well?)
- Hont (154) => [nothing] (the current Polish dynamic name - Nowe Zamki - refers to the old name of the province - Érsekújvár. With the new name, there's no need for a Polish dynamic name)
- Bashkortostan (475) => Baszkortostan/Baszkiria (I think this province should be renamed to Bashkiria since Bashkortostan is the name of the modern day federal subject of Russia; If that happens, please use the name Baszkiria as a Polish dynamic province name and if not, use Baszkortostan
- White Karelia (1776) => [nothing] (Before, this province's default name was Kem and now the default name of the province is perfectly fine)
- Udmurtia (1972) => Udmurcja (I don't really know why I thought using the Russian city name instead of a Polish version of the region name was a good idea)
- Agyidel (2420) => Agidel
- Trencin (4236) =>Trenczyn (also, I think the default name of the province and the province capital should be renamed to Trenčin since "č" is supported by the game's text rendering system)
- Olomouc (4237) => Olomuniec
- Liegnitz (4238) => Legnica
- Lower Don (288)
- Tura (1078) - Tura is apparently the name of the river flowing through Siberia so I guess it's okay to leave the province name as it is
- Pelym (1080) - Same reasoning as with Tura
- Kudymkar (1962)
- Majar (2416)
- Ukek (2418)
