Idk why the chance Germany or any country for that matter to not go ahistorical when you specifically click the option I have had 15+ back to back Rhineland remilitarizations just trying to get Germany cooped so I can get the achievement for Argentina, idk why anyone who picks to play in an alternative history setting would want stuff to not go ahistorical.

Maybe you were really unlucky, I'm not sure what are you trying to achieve, I don't hunt for achievements, but by chance were you reloading the same save trying to get Germany to do something different?

Firstly, what each AI does (what ideology path it goes) is decided at the gamestart, it isn't random and won't change mid-game, reloading won't change anything.
Second - same thing applies to any 'chance' in events. Reloading a save to try to force some event again won't lead to a different result. That's how this game works.

Most times I put non historical on Germany does the civil war, Im sure on certain settings Germany does it every time, like Soviets, USA, Japan historical, Germany, UK not, seems to result in no Hitler every time, Italy, France seems not to matter

No, there are many things in the game that change with reloads. Tactics selection, agent capture, selection of a ship that is to receive damage while exercising (but not the damage event itself), battleplanner orders to reposition for AI-led countries etc.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, to earn achievements, you need to play in Ironman mode (at least on Steam), so there wouldn't be a way to "reload" to change a decision.

I also think it could be bad luck with the probabilities, as in my alternate history games, almost 99.9% of the time there is a civil war both in Germany and the USSR. I also believe the developers may have changed this, as I remember when I played there, about 7 years ago, one thing that was annoying was the US constantly interfering in South American wars even before 1938 in the alternate history scenario, so they reduced this probability for the AI to choose.

You should be able to set one country to go the path you want on nonhistorical ironman.

I get the reasoning for not allowing a fully customizable game start on ironman, but asking the player to play RNG just to get Germany to go kaiser or Britain to go commie so a particular achievement is "doable" is irritating.

I say "doable" because the Argentina one (as are they all) is fully doable on historical, it's just a very long one to do, and occasionally I'd like to do some achievement hunting on ahistorical, although that's an entirely different kettle of RNG in itself....

i was indeed not reloading as it was in iron man for achievements so every time was a full new game start, i didnt particularly care for which ideology they adapted i just needed the civil war, i just wish picking for a country to go a nonhist path removes the achievement gain ability, leaving certain paths you could want up to a dice roll

my whole point in the post is that i dont want to be immersed in the realistic choices of ww2 when specifically click non historical, its a separate mode for a reason is it not

  1. You sound like you don't complain Germany in ahistorical does not go down SOME ahistorical path in general but rather you want AI to take ONE particular decision out of a miriad for you to get one specific achievement. It just happens to be her historical choice but for your next achievement you might need her to stick closer to history so you'd be displeased with something you have campaigned for before.
  2. You want GER to agree to a most exotic demand of demilitarizing Rhineland from a very exotic member of Allies (Argentina). I really want to see 15+ truly END-TO-END runs for ARG where it gets MOST of the warscore against ENG, FRA, POL, SOV and the rest of the pack :) You chose a hard-to-get achievement for a country that'll really struggle to get it so you get what you asked for ;)
