Has this always happened for you with this game? Or it was okay up to some point?

Did you in particular try fullScreen, Vsync off, and the refresh rate capped to 60?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

It seems to happen randomly. Some evenings it isn't flickering, then the next day it does. Not sure what causes it. Restarting the PC when it happens does not fix it.

Then I suspect your issue comes from outside the game. Perhaps interference from power lines, fluorescent lights, a negative ion generator - anything like that?

Forgot to say in my last post, that it indeed still occurs when using fullscreen, V-Sync off and 60fps.

Well, powerlines as in the overland towers with hundreds of thousands of current, no. Normal household ones, yea. Just the ones for my PC, monitors and speaker system, but they are (except for the monitors', cause, y'know, it needs power) not hugging my stuff. This is all EU-240V-juice.
Fluorescent lights, no.

Negative ion generator - never even heard of them. No.

This flickering only occurs in Stellaris, none of my other games are having this issue. I would love to test other PDX games, but I don't know which ones run the same engine.

All the ones we write do: CK2, EU4, HOI4; with a much later version of Clausewtiz also CK3, I:R

Is it particular to a time of day perhaps? Happens in some rooms in your house but not others?

Do you have any other machines there you can try it on?

Welp, none of these I own. I did have CK2 on xbox Game Pass, but not anymore. But I don't really remember it flickering, but to be honest, I haven't played it a lot.

Well, I can't really check if it happens in other rooms, too (desktop PC), but I can install it on my laptop and look for it there / test different rooms if it happens on it, too.
Time of day, oh dear, I don't think so? That is I have to keep track of the next few days.

FYI CK2 is free to play on Steam now.
