I just installed HoI2 on 2 of my computers and when playing them I get a slight flicker, usually on the top half of the screen. Any idea on why and what I could do to fix it?

Something running in the background is causeing interference.
Music match will cause this.
Some virus protection programs will as well.
The other possiblity is outdated video driver.
If you follow my standard advice it will fix you up.
Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set the color depth to 16BIT
3) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
4) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.
Music match will cause this.

my experience:
I also had (heavy) flickering, did the following:
- disabled Music Match,
- disabled the "mim.exe" file in Task Manager > Processes
Works fine even without disabling my antivirus/antispy etc. (ok, maybe one or two blinks in 5 minutes but I prefer to keep my anti- programs running...)
Also disconnecting your broadband connection helps...
Have fun.

Well If you disconnected your internet connect what is the problem with turning the anti virus off.

Depends, of course, how your broadband connection is implemented. Mine, for example, is a DSL connection that's handled by a NAT enabled router/modem. Which means that, as far as Windows is concerned, there is just a LAN connection and an IP address. That does not come with additional software that can interfere with the game and cause flicker
i have flickering (or whatever it is called) when I start the game, when it loads for soem reason... but it works fine when playing...
