Is it possible to adjust in-game text/font size?

A grand few minutes of play so far, and already a complaint - or perhaps a wish. :p

I play on a projection system. That means I sit a fair distance from the 'view', and games that don't autoadjust in-game texts/fonts to match screen resolutions are tough on the eyes. The default font for the 'advisor' text is so small I can barely read it if I squint, no matter what resolution I pick. If possible, I'd like those text lines to be as big as the 'pause menu' texts, at the very least. Is there a way to double, if not quadruple, the size of the in-game text lines without breaking the UI? This'd include the Advisor tooltips, the mouseover tooltips and Chirpee's messages, at the very least.

I'd rather not have to use binoculars when playing a game - even when it comes to watching my city and its denizens from afar. :)

Ability to increase UI text font size, yes please! (maybe it's already possible via mod or .ini file!?).
There are a lot of "young eyes" out there, but also plenty of older eyes.

So disappointing :( I have been really excited about this game and when I opened it up for the first time, I couldn't read any of the messages. It doesn't look like it can be adjusted either. Really super disappointing :(

Larger font size, please.

An option provided by the devs for larger font sizes would be most appreciated. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and I can't play this game right now, though I'd very much like to.

In the absence of an official option (I'm not holding out much hope for one, as this has often been a problem with games published by Paradox.), does anyone know of a mod for larger text? I searched the Steam Workshop but couldn't find one.

might I also suggest reading glasses?

I actually have a specific condition that isn't helped much by glasses.

Manual might help

Have you tried printing out the manual, and then finding the "hot key page." But I do agree, I to would like larger fonts.

This might work. I could teach myself the entire game beforehand and, hopefully, be able to ignore all the text in game. Maybe I'll try that. Still, I imagine there will be important messages that pop up throughout the course of the game.

Yeah i pointed this out in my previous thread
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?835045-Option-for-bigger-fonts&highlight=

i always struggle with small fonts. But its not modable so don't have a choice at the moment :)

That's a real shame.

Yes please to a large fonts options... ditto on not glasses not assisting... why is there always one person who thinks its the epitome of wit to suggest glasses on these threads.

Maybe it's the graphic settings, i.e., anti-aliasing or whatnot, but my text is a little fuzzy. This isn't a matter of eyesight: the text literally is a little blurry. It's not so bad that I can't read it, but it's definitely not sharp and clear.

Have you tried adjusting the resolution in game, perhaps to match your desktop resolution? I tried adjusting the in-game resolution. Unfortunately, it did nothing for the font size like many games will do. While the size remained the same, I noticed every other resolution aside from 1920x1080, which is also my desktop resolution, made the text blurry.

I can sympathize with you on this. I refer to this as text that's the size of ant's footprints. A buddy of mine now calls it ant print!

Did you try adjusting the fonts on the control panel. This may adjust the size in the game. It does require a system restart to take affect, and keep in mind that there maybe some cut-off text in some dialog boxes, which happens because the developer did not use scalable boxes. There is also the built-in magnifier tool found under the easy access, but I'm not sure how this will work for you.

Good luck,

John

Variable Text size

Like many people I'm short sighted. I appreciate decent graphics so play at the max resolution my monitor supports, 2048x1152. It's really pretty galling having to squint at a small text size in what appears to be a large fixed size textbox that's padded up with a misty background. Why not have textbox options:-
1) Text size
2) Transparent background / no background

Another thread on font size merged...

Please people, try to read at least the first visible page for duplicate threads. The post volume is really high and if you keep posting duplicate ideas and issues your post will move many pages in short time.

Apologies in advance to the mods: I tried searching for similar threads but couldn't find anything, so made my own thread about this (http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...TREMELY-small-UI-font-unreadable-on-my-screen). I've only just now seen this thread.

I'd like to add that my eyesight is completely fine. It's just that absolutely no human being alive could read this font if they were sitting a few feet away from my 32 inch screen at 1920x1080, which is how I always play games. I mean, I've played plenty of games with my current set up where the font has been too small at 1920x1080, so I've just reduced the resolution to 1280x720 and it's increased the font size (this is what I did for Cities in Motion, SimCity, etc). The fact that this isn't an option makes this game totally unplayable. I've been really looking forward to this for weeks as well :(
