I just spend the whole day reading it this thread, all 43 pages of it! I have created some event for Greater Tibet and didn't realise the existence of this fabulous AAR and the Historical Mod till Le Ran's posting on my thread.

Brilliant writing, brilliant strategy. :)

I gonna play my Tibet but got to try a different route (without UK Allliance) so it is not too much of the same as Le Ran's else my game path gonna be influenced by what I have read! :D

That is actually really sad... Though I can't talk.. ;)

Well... to be fair, I was still going to be paying for internet anyway. It's just that I probably wouldn't have payed for internet as often without this AAR. :D

On the following Link you can find a pic of him. (Is the one sitting on the center of the image)

Thanks a lot for your interest! I thought that this man was actually Yamphe-la (spelled "Yarphel" in my Tibet HOI2 set) Pangdatsang, i.e. another one of the brothers of the Pangdatsang family (the merchant, actually). I don't have my reference material with me right now but I think that Tobgyal lived in Kham at that time.

While I'm here, and since it does not happen so very often, I can not resist the urge to announce that "Reting Rimpoche's dating sim" is well under way, and should be released on a Flash portal (Newgrounds or such), well er, anytime soon (as in "rather soon", not as in "immediately"). As quasi-world exclusivity, first screenshots from the beta !

(the texts are still in French, but there will be a choice between French and English in the final version)

O powerful and benevolent moderators, please forgive this limited practise of thread necromancy, but I thought that the eventual survivors of my old and faithful readAARs would be interested in this news :

Reting Rimpoche's Dating Sim is finally released !

You can play it here on Newgrounds.

Hope you enjoy !

Note that history ended badly for Tibet too ;)

But the question is: was it written "bad end"? If not, then you got the "good end", even if it's not what you expected ;)

I won't talk more about the ending I got right now. Wouldn't want to spoil it for others ;)

One question though, what does motivation do?

One question though, what does motivation do?
You noticed rightfully that I didn't create a tutorial or FAQ in my game (call that laziness or exhaustion...)

Motivation is used when you try to learn intensively a characteristic (i.e. in Drepung or Trapchi):
- it multiplies the basic characteristic that you learn (wisdom, culture, strength). In this case, it's the ratio of current motivation by base motivation that counts (if you have 10/20 motivation, you learn at 50% of the max rate).
- it decreases every time you learn: when it drops to zero, you must rest before learning again.

Besides that, you can use "base motivation" it as a "love-meter" that indicates your progress in the game.

Now that I think of it, some kind of in-game explanations would be useful... by I'm way too tired of coding to do it now. Oh well, anyway - I'm sure you would have figured all that yourself eventually. ;)

Out of sense of duty, I must add that...
You noticed rightfully that I didn't create a tutorial or FAQ in my game (call that laziness or exhaustion...)
... there IS now an in-game help - and I changed some rules too, to make them simpler and more self-explainatory. The game still is here on Kongregate and here on Newgrounds.

Hooray for me! I can now dedicate my life to something else than coding a Flash game :)

Congratulations, having just completed it I must say it's combination of humour and wrist-slashing depression made it a unique experience!

I'm glad that you liked the very special feeling I tried to infuse into this game ^^

Not trying to repeat myself, but have you noted how conveniently metaphorical it is ? :D

I played it and got the... ending. Not sure if it is good or bad, but she was in a bikini. What does that mean?!

I'm so lost.
