This might be more of a bug forum thread, but there was a lot of confusion over this last time it was mentioned in GD so I'm posting it here. Basicly the title say it all. I've been testing this in multi over a LAN today. As far as I can seen it doesn't affect your country at all, it doesn't show up in the "Country X offers us peace for Y" box and if it's the only thing you offer for peace the log says you settled for a white peace.

Forced disarmament does not work. I got fed up of asking Luxembourg to get rid of part of those 600,000 men it had as soldiers and made them go back to their factories.

It took me 4 wars to finish this problem once and for all!!! :p

IMHO FD should either take away a number of your existing armies or put a ceiling to the # of men in each brigade, or (even better) dismiss the exceding brigades and not allow you to raise new ones after X years

Sorry folks - was away for 4 days a sister's wedding (600 mile drive :()

Re forced disarmament - don't know. Used it once and the target did not build any more troops. I'll experiment at home.

If anyone has access to a game with a save - check the top of the file in the section with all the treaties. It should be listed there.

But I'll ask Paradox too (ps - probably won't get changed for 1.03 though)

Tried with Ottomans vs Russia and Ottomans vs Persia

Russia prior to treaty 12 inf 10 cavalry - after 12 inf 6 cavalry. Net loss 4
Persia prior to treaty 5 infantry 2 cavalry - after 3 infantry, 1 cavalry. Net loss 3

No constraint on rebuilding troops.

Is that number of divs allowed, or number of divs running around on the map?

I looked in the save have forcing disarmament on Greece as Ottomans, all I see in treaties is:
Code:
treaty = {
        id = { type = 4712 id = 471586 }
        type = peace
        country = "GRE"
        country = "TUR"
        continent = 0
        startdate = { year = 1908 month = november day = 20 }
        expirydate = { year = 1913 month = november day = 20 }

Edit: Oddly enough, when I switched to Greece the Ottomans mobilized. They (I) had 2 5 div armies, with plenty more standing about around the empire, in Greece and already controled half of it while Greece had one battered div. Seems like the AI believes in over-kill :rolleyes:
