I'll submit my orders tomorrow when I have more time. :)

(( Have you not been getting my messages, Walter? I've posted my specialization and PMed you my orders, yet I don't have an X by my name? ))

Whoops, I mixed yours up with someone elses.

Sorry guys, but I'm quitting the game. I haven't had that much time for forum games recently, and I don't expect to have much time for them for sa while. Therefore, the (in my opinion) overly complex rules of this game and the complicated way of submitting orders it to much for me. Good luck to everyone else, and I'll see ya 'round the OT. :) Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Oh, and just something that's been kinda bugging me (not intended as a parting shot): shouldn'the game be caled "Civilisation and Its Malcontents?" Sorry, I'm a bit of a grammar fascist. :eek:o

It's a reference to a book by Sigmund Freud..

When the Gods created man, they gave them to feet and legs, so they could wander around to find everything they needed. And so they did. Although some people said, that it was their destiny to settle down one day in a land, that the Gods had destined for them, they did not have the feeling, that they had already found it.

And so they left their current location on the shores of a huge water and began to walk. They walked toward the sun in the noon and then toward the place, where the sun disappeared. They walked until the terrain became more flat and they crossed two rivers. Although that seemed to be a nice place, they decided to walk even further and then they arrived at another huge water. But the water was bitter and they could not drink it.

They had to walk further. But then they saw it. There was a huge river running into the bitter water. And along its shores were lots of plants and animalsThey decided, that this was the place the Gods had designed only for them and the people began to spread along the river and hunt and gather everything they needed. And there was plenty for everyone.

Whwen they looked down, they saw the rich dark soil along the river and they began to call their country Kemet, the Black Land. The Egyptians had finally found their home.

(Well, it is the destination and the GM decides how long it takes to get there. :))
((actually you were suppose to only send a map with the movement for one turn...you decide the path to go wherever you want to go...not the gm XD))

(Well, it is the destination and the GM decides how long it takes to get there. :))

((I asked our GM if such movement was possible, and was told that one had to move manually, one POP at a time...))

(Then it will take four turns. See you again in Turn 5. :p)

Well, shiet. Now I have to resend orders :/

((I asked our GM if such movement was possible, and was told that one had to move manually, one POP at a time...))
((For those wondering, this is actually fairly important, you don't want three of your pops on non-specialized tiles, then have another walk over an already-hunted tile, do you? That would result in one pop dying.))

It was a hard journey, stumbling across rocks with the sun beating down upon them, and what they were searching for was a thing quite unknown, but when they reached their destination there was no doubt this was what had been their goal all along.

The waves that day swept far above their heads, and their formerly-great bay seemed a pittance, a small pond of rain-water by the wayside. And it seemed to them that some manner of god or creature lay under the thrashing waters, or was indeed the water itself, spitefully biting at the rocks and eventually towards the Assrayeen themselves.

Some of them ran terrified back into the safety of their home, and because of their fear drew their weapons towards themselves, and became afeared. These were the sar-mutineem, they-who-were-afraid. ((Solders in ingame turns.))

But others were braver, and those who stayed observed the receding of the waves, until finally they were able to cast out their nets into the sea. And it was reported that there was a bounty, a multitude of fish, more than anyone had ever seen before. So it was that that night they ate and laughed together, and even the poorest amongst them were well-fed. And in the morning the Orb rose and upon the calm sea drew its rays, and to them it looked like the lines of a net, grasping the waters.

But this was not the most remarkable of the incidents that blessed day, for it was said that an enormous bird with sea-azure and golden feathers flew up above the water, and extended its wings towards the watchers, as if in embrace. And then as, it plunged towards the calm water, the sea opened up and a turmoil spread across the flat surface, until the waves became as vicious as they had been the day the Assrayeen had arrived.

This was universally taken as a good sign by the Assrayeen, and it was thought that the sea god favored the Assrayeen above all others, and had shown the watchers his avatar.

And its was thus that a new banner was drawn.

These were the aeth-maratheen, they-who-are-the-favored, that is, of the sea god who they called Soreth-gamar, he-of-the-great-fury.

Some of these went along the coast of the ocean, and drew their nets into the sea, each time bringing forth great bounties.

And so the Assraya became more prosperous than ever.
