To, President Ga'far Oueddei

Mr. President, allow me to belatedly express my gratification at my appointment as MInister of State. Given my relative youth and lack of experience this is a complete shock, but it is with pleasure that I see our new President recognise such latent talent as my own.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Ongo

~

Over the course of '81, the People's Patriotic Front continued to spread amongst the Gbaya, the people of the groups leader. While he was previously almost completely unknown, Ongo's position as Minister of State gave the Front a level authority that it would never have had otherwise. Within the Front, the date of the so-called “Sara Genocide” was established as an annual celebration for the coming years, an act of victory by the loyal Gbaya over the disease of socialism.

Dmitry walked with Colonel Gaddafi in one of his "gardens"., after they had eaten a lunch worth at least 100.000 rubles. Dmitry was astonished by the wealth this man had in his possession. He had never seen anything like it. He was generally against the idea of people hoarding money, but, the colonel was working for the good of the world, so it didn't trouble Dmitry. "So, will you be staying for a long time?" Gaddafi asked. "I have had a joyful stay here in your personal care, though I have to help the revolution in the Central African Republic. The new military coup might make it problematic for the socialist, as it is a military dictatorship, as you might know." Dmitry responded. "In helping spreading the revolution" Gaddafi began, "what do you mean?" "I want to train the rebels into an effective fighting force," Dmitry answered with great enthusiasm, "so they can fight the powers of oppression." The colonel looked at him, and said, "Well, I have a place that you might use," Gaddafi began, "Darfur, a rebellious province in Sudan, mainly controlled by rebels loyal to me. I could offer you and your men protection, in exchange that you train the fighters of oppresion." "I can do that. How long is it, till we can be sent down there?" Dmitry asked. "In a day or two if you want." Gaddafi answered. After that, they walked in again and Dmitry told his men to make ready to move out...

Orders:

Take to Darfur under the protection of Gaddafi's troops, and set up a training camp for the Sara National Front and the GFPLSA. Here they will train into an effective fighting force, capable of using a weapon properly. Also, educate them of the greatness of socialism/communsim

Orders: Go around the south attempting to gain support for socialists through the use of secular speeches, attacking the corruption of the Dako government and the poverty of the nation.

(Short notice stuff, Firehound. Give at least three days' notice in the future)

Yousef looked down the muddy hut in the ridge. From the outside it looked like the poorest building in the whole region, even though there weren't that many around. But inside, matters were quite different. Descending down the ladders that were hidden under an old barrel, he arrived to the sweatshop. An underground cave, nearly 10 metres long, was filled with weapons and men working on them.

Brothers, our latest shipments have arrived. They are waiting at safe locations in Darfur. Now, please, tell me that as many of these weapons are in working condition as possible? We will need them soon. The revolution is about to begin.

Get more ammunition and weapons from Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Somalia, Libya, just anywhere. Build more secretive bases on both sides of the border. Repair guns in these sweatshops.

Moses was very angry, Mutumbe had failed his job. But just as jesus gave second chance he would give one to Mutumbe, he would find the precious crystals or he would receive consequences for his failures. Calming his rage down he talked with Mutumbe and send him once more this time with many more men and equipment, he had one job a very important one, if he failed he would be punished by god, he knew this.

Fortunelly everything else was going pretty well, the allaince with the other anti muslims was a good thing and equipment was pouring into the sfae houses and underground tunnels, soon they would be ready to defend the souls of the nation in a great scale, for now however he must act in small scale and intensify the recruitment.

"Lamray, continue your recruitment of men willing to protect the souls of their villages and families against the corruption of the muslim faith. You are doing good work but need to be more than what have been done until now, now go and talk with the head of the villages in the area. I am sure they are willing to help us"

"Adisa, the sara bastards are protesting again, and some say in mass scale, we must be wary of any attacks by the devils in our area of influence and oppose them. If there is any protest or heathen man trying to convince people about the joining their devilish ways we will end them for the good of all, as God call us"

"Berko, deliver this message to our contacts, we are glad they see reason and will help us stop the communist take over of our beloved nation, we will gladly accept all the help they can provide and contact Motumbe we need more guns and ammunition, especially for heavy machin guns."

"Berka, come here mah boy. I will give you a very important job. Find a mechanic in the city that can share our ideals, and make him join our cause. We need to fix up the cars as sson as possible. find more Toyotas for the cause too, no matter if not in perfect state we will fix them. soon we will have money for it. Now go!"

It was hard to be a leader, but he must continue to do so, for it was God´s will. He would not let the souls of millions burn in hell as long as he lived in this land. His life was in the hands of God, for as long as God wished it he would serve as his sword upon the Central African republic.

(Short notice stuff, Firehound. Give at least three days' notice in the future)

(I had made clear over IRC that this update period would be two days, since there had been complaints about stagnancy during the last update cycle (which lasted three days,) in response to this, I have decided to go with a faster period for orders and IC, just so we can get to the good parts sometime this century.)

Name: The Most Rev. Armand Mandaba, S.J., Archbishop of Bangui
Cardinal-Wilfrid-Napier.jpg

Date of Birth: June 4, 1921
Biography: Born in Bangui as the youngest son of an ethnic Yakoma family, Mandaba exhibited a sharp mind and a strong faith. His academic prowess allowed him to attend Catholic schools as a scholarship student, until he was given a scholarship to the Universite Laval in Montreal. While there, he entered the Society of Jesus, and they sent him to Georgetown to complete his regency (which he spent ministering to the significant African-American Catholic community there) and theologate. He served as a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Louvanium from 1960 to the school's close in 1971, whereupon he was reassigned to conduct mission work in his home country. Jailed several times by Bokassa's regime, he was finally released in 1979. Meanwhile, Archbishop Joachim N'Dayen had mysteriously died - some suspected one of the last gasps of Bokassa. In any event, in January 1981 he was chosen to be Archbishop of Bangui by Pope John Paul II, and ordained a few months later - indeed, the day before General Oueddei seized power.

Mandaba, while naturally looking out for the interests of the Catholic Church in the CAR, has so far remained relatively neutral in the building struggle. This is, of course, unlikely to stay that way...

Name: Francois Mallier Le Roche
DOB: March 2, 1945
Bio: Raised by a poor Catholic family in the slums of Bangui, the young Francois Le Roche developed a powerful ambition to rise above the conditions of his birth. Applying himself and studying hard, he managed to become a defence lawyer but soon discovered for himself the corruption in the nation's legal system. Realising that he could never make a name for himself honestly, Francois soon gained a reputation for unsavoury and often unethical methods, but also for consistently getting his wealthy and powerful clients off their charges, making allies in the process. Now a district attorney, Le Roche has decided to make his entry into politics

-OUEDDEI-

Ga’far Muhammad Oueddei

The apparent calm of the first two months of Oueddei’s government betrayed the true internal situation of the nation during that time. While his rise had served to reduce public outrage after the catastrophe that Dacko’s government had been, Oueddei continued to represent the small Islamic and Fulani minorities, and the shifting political climate only served to increase the instability of the Northern regions.

In the time following the disastrous “Sara Genocide,” the group collectively representing the minority, the Sara National Front, launched aggressive campaigns calling not only for the removal of General Kolingba from office, but Minister of State and suspected Gbaya supremacist Jacques B. Ongo. These demands would ultimately fall on deaf ears, however, and both officials would remain in office, much to the dismay of the Sara minority.

Sara rioters during the “June Protests”

The NFS would organize protests in honor of the casualties of the “genocide,” yet their record would not remain ideal. After 21 days the Sara protesters once again assaulted the police, but rather than failing miserably, would end up with control over the town of Kabo, although this action would fundamentally be for naught as the poorly supplied rioters were soon forced to buckle to troops once again under the command of General Kolingba, who had been earning a name as enemy to the Sara. 170 people (mostly Sara) would be injured in the process, with surprisingly few fatalities. The government media would be somewhat accurate in declaring this a bloodless victory for the Oueddei administration, despite the fact that it was most likely an issue of supply rather than tactics or strategy.

By the end of July, what was superficially a seemingly peaceful two months was a point of discomfort for Oueddei, who was faced with the looming threat of civil war as the Islamic Socialist groups of the north began to mobilize in defense of their Sara brethren. While this might not have been cause for worry under normal circumstances, the situation had taken a turn for the grim when news arrived that the Islamic Socialists may have been receiving supplies from nearby countries- in particular, Libya.

Name: Jacques François Ubangaye
Date and Place of Birth: 18 October 1953, Bangui, Ubangi-Shari territory, French Equatorial Africa (28)
Ethnicity and Religion: Gbaya, Roman Catholicism
Biography:
Jacques François Ubagnaye was born in Bangui on the 18th of October 1953 to Nicolas Ubagnaye, a descendant of a Baya Chief, lawyer and supporter of the French rule of the Ubangi-Shari territory and Maria Ubagnaya, who died in childbirth. Nicolas Ubagnaya, as descdendant of a Chief, was sent to France to be educated to lead his people for the French colonial system, there Nicolas converted to Roman Catholicism and became a staunch supporter of white supriority. However, due to his education (or indocrtrination) Nicolas was one of the few people who did not wish to see the Central African Peoples independent, therefore he and his family fled to France when David Dacko started his witchhunt against political rivals.

Jacques grew up in Paris with a father who supported the idea that he was inferior to the white men he worked with, even those he had to defended in court, who where the most vile men alive but were too poor to pay for a white lawyer, even with the discrimination he had to deal with every day, Jacques studied chemistry at the Paris University, where he became enamoured with democracy and progressive politics, however, his strong sense of faith compelled him to stay out of the athiest progressive circles. When he returned to Bangui after his studies, he founded a small progressive catholic organisation, - strongly supported in student and youth circles - which protested for democracy and a constitution. After Dacko was overthrown for a second time, Jacques decided to enter politics to finally create a stable and accepting government with a real constitution, however, the current military junta might not accept these progressive democrats.

Parti Politique des Radicaux
Political Party for Radicals
Although the party has Roman Catholic roots, it denounces a direct relationship between religion and politics. The party can be seen as an early green party with a post-materialist agenda consisting of environmentally acceptable economy growth, nuclear disarmament and neutrality in the cold war, democratization of the economy and democratization of the Central African Republic.

((Good news! Heart of Africa will be returning sometime next weekend, and I'll have a mini prepared as well, so for those wondering, HoA is definitely not over.))

((That's good news, this thread is fun to read.))

The leadership of the Parti Politique des Radicaux organised various non violent protests for the democratization of the Central African Republic and against the use of violence by government forces against Central African citizens. Jacques François Ubangaye, leader of the Parti Politique des Radicaux was one of the more frequently appearing orators.

"Three times a dictator was overthrown in Central Africa, three times he was replaced by another one, three times a dictator promised change, three times this promise was broken. I ask you, the people, what has changed since Ga'far Oueddei overthrew the government? What did this goverment do for you? What makes this dictatorship different from the one it overthrew? Ga'far Oueddei said in his inauguration address to the people of Central Africa that the government would no longer allow your rights to be trampled on, your faith in government misplaced and your outcry ignored and that the provisional government would seek henceforth to bring stability and peace to Central Africa, to ensure that every man, woman and child can feel safe that the horrors of the Dacko and Bokasse eras would be erased and that we emerge as a new and more powerful nation. How can every man, woman and child of Central Africa feel safe if more than a 100 citizens were killed during a non violent protest by goverment forces? How can there be stability in the nation and peace be in Central Africa if its goverment opresses all opinions save their own and with Islamic Communists on the rise in our Repbulic? How can we place faith in the goverment when all our outcries are ignored and all our right trampled upon? The Goverment who promised to bring stability and freedom has brought us nothing, it has not erased the horros of the Dacko and Bokasse eras, it has returned their ancient regimes of a suspended Constitution and National Assembly, of fear and fighting, and once again, there is no hope for a democratic Central Africa, the Central African Republic will continue his path down military juntas and corruption. I would ask Oueddei, I would beg Oueddei, I would cry out to Ouddei, remember your duty to the people, free them from the tyrrany that you wished to stop by overthrowing Dacko, which you have only strengthened in the process, reinstate the constitution and the national assembly and give Central Africa the democracy it craves and needs! However he is not the man who can change Central Africa, nor he is the man who wants to change Central Africa, before me stand the people who can change Central Africa, before me stands the hope of our Republic! I ask you, I beg you, I cry out to you, answer the call of duty of the Central African Republic and Democracy and do your duty not for yourself, but for your neighbour, your children, for the future of Central Africa! If you answer the call of duty, if you do your duty with zeal and willpower, Central Africa wil have a future, a future of democracy and prosperity! Long live the People of Central Africa!"

((Jacques François Ubangaye will organise anti-goverment non-violent protests))
