Alright so here's my game idea a Ship RP game where the players control the happenings on what scenario they choose the current 3 scenarios to choose from are WW1, WW2, and Space exploration which would be similar to Star Trek. It would take place on a ship WW1 would be Dreadnaughts and Uboats, WW2 Uboats and Carriers, and Space would be like Star Trek class ships. You would be a ship officer along with a captain as a player then RP events that happen like finding a space ship hulk, encountering a major battle, or finding a new planet though depending on what section you choose Security, Medical, Science(may not be in others besides Space), and regular officers.

The stats would be Fuel, Ammo, Experience. Food wouldn't be in the space scenario unless the players choose it. Battles would be that the all the ships people decide on what to do with the current situation then I would roll on it and write up how it turned out. But the captain CAN override what the players decide if it is ridiculous but the game is based on what the players do Space would be like encountering a new alien and choosing whether or not to destroy it. Also captains can't be mutinied unless there is a sufficient reason to mutiny against the current captain IE blowing up a planet or killing civilians. But besides whats going on the players RP their characters and what type of officer they are. But still it is player run but there is NPC's too who also may or may not react to something happening.

That is the game idea I have and if there is enough interest for it then it will become a forum game possibly later on. I think the main goodness about this idea is that it's mainly centered around the players and how they want to do things, from going in Rambo like or taking the peaceful route in the space scenario. One more thing concerning the scenarios is that the three I told you about will be choosen from and al have various pros and cons as a Uboat in WW1 wouldn't do as good as one in the WW2 Scenario though that one is prone to destroyers.

Another scenario to consdier would be a Master and Commander type, where the players are on a frigate or privateer on a prolonged cruise. Lots of opportunity there for thumping great battles against enemy ships, but also some possibility for diplomacy and intrigue as the ship puts in at foreign ports.

One possible pitfall, by nature all your settings are all very dependant on a chain of command, i.e the player who plays the captain will ultimately be the only one whos oppinion matters. A privateer would have these issues lessened. A pirate ship wouldn't have them at all. Food for thought.

Well as long as the captain listens to his officers then it allows for more player input but there will not be a ranking system per say as all the officers will most likely be either heads of their departments or sub officers so the chain of command isn't complex. And Lord Dalek thats in the WW2 scenario of the three and what I had in mind was the players choose a nation and that carrier like the UK's carriers in the medditerranean, the USA's pacific carriers, and the French carrier(not too sure if they had one) though I suppose we could do a game like that.
