Bush and a Bleeding Economy
"Governor J.R Long has provided a clear vision of an American future, reforming, expanding, and re-evaluating the various institutions and policies of the federal government, and even if you don't agree with them, at least they are consistent! President Bush promised famously, "No New Taxes!", and what did he do? Of course, more taxes!

The issue is not taxation, but what can only be a clear failure to provide the strong leadership needed to keep a check on the national economy. Bush and the Republicans promised healthy markets, but there is nothing healthy about ten million Americans without works, millions stuck in hard labor for declining wages, nor in a disastrous recession that resulted in back-tracking and a violation of campaign promises. Is this a man that can be trusted in the White House?"

- A decidedly pro-Long news article, accompanied with a typical attack ad on Bush, as pictured above

The following airs within the 12th California Congressional District

A shot of glass breaking

America is broken.

A shot of a rotting apple core on the ground

The current American system has been corrupted to its core

There is no hope for an American nation with this system. But we can rebuild

A shot of construction workers building a home.

We can rebuild this nation from the ground up and have a congress that works for the common American, not the corporations.

A vote for Rosenburg is a vote for change, a vote for a New America for all, not some. I am Catie Rosenberg and I support this message.

During the height of the 1992 Campaign, State Speaker Craig Peachtree welcomes Governor Long to his own district, where supporters and curious Nebraskans alike, many of whom are college students, gather at the University of Nebraska's Bob Devaney Sports Complex in Lincoln...

As the crowd now fills the gymnasium, Speaker and Congressional Candidate Craig Peachtree takes the podium...

"My beloved Nebraska! We are here today, at America’s greatest university, THE University of Nebraska, to talk about the man who has inspired America, the vision that has inspired America, the progressive, populist promise that will, finally, remind the Reagan-Bush machine that the owners of our great nation are first, foremost, and exclusively, its people! It seems that Washington has forgotten that America’s lifeline stems from the denisons of our democracy, the hard-working, freedom-striving, neighbor-loving citizens of these United States. President Bush lies about taxes and doesn’t dare remind us of the failure of his economic record. No, instead the President thinks that a war, fought half a world away is enough to silence the ever-growing, ever-dissenting voice of the American people. Well, Mr. President, today, here in the golden heart of America, our voice remains Loud and Clear! The good hearted people of Nebraska trusted you with 60% of their vote in 1988, but now we must say No More! You sir, have harmed the sacred trust of the people, the citizens, the voters of Nebraska. And we reiterate, No More! No more shall the Nebraskan place our innocent, well-meaning trust in your hands. Mr. President, I know you likely haven’t had to drive for yourself in a very, very long time, but here in Nebraska… regular Americans have to drive themselves to get somewhere. Here in Nebraska, we rely on our own transportation and under your watch, Oil Prices have skyrocketed and the good people of Nebraska are suffering, struggling to cope and adjust with higher gas prices coupled with the economic recession fostered by you, Mr. President. And we reiterate, No More! No more shall the Nebraskan willfully put the economy and therefore their livelihoods in your hands.

So, today I am here to introduce the man who has a new vision. A man whose last name evokes just as much respect as that of … Bush… but this man, this is a man who has earned his name, the Long name. J.R. Long has no family complex in Maine, J.R. Long has no powerhouse dynastic wealth. No, J.R. Long has a legacy, a legacy to uphold that is so much more than a name. It is a legacy of service, it is a legacy of American companionship. The America J.R. Long fights for is an America where one hurting American is one hundred too many.

And let me tell you somethin’ else. J.R. Long… he won’t blink in the face of the Conservative attack machine. The “Era” of Reagan doesn’t faze J.R. The Roger Ailes propaganda machine doesn’t faze J.R. And that is why, for the first time in a generation, Liberal will NOT be a bad word in this nation. No, J.R., he wears it proudly, like a pin on his lapel. The pride of the liberal, the pride of the populist, the pride of the progressive.

Let me tell you, the foundations of the Bush Administration will tremble as we declare the words… Mr. President, we do not fear you. We the People are proud to declare ourselves Liberal! We are Proud of our Progressivism. We the People are with Governor J.R. Long! This is the man who has revitalized the American dream, for the everyday American, this is the man who earned his name, won in Louisiana and won in the Primaries! This is the man who fights for the core principles of E Pluribus Unum! This is the man who will be the 42nd President of the United States of America! Nebraskans, I give you America’s champion, J.R. Long!"

Long stepped up at that moment, and patted Peachtree on the back, then gave him an enthused handshake before taking command of the podium.

“Good folks of the Cornhusker State, it is an honor to stand before you as the people’s candidate for the Presidency of the United States of America. I look out, and my love and faith in my Nation is only strengthened, for among you I see many of our future generations, young minds already eager to make positive change.

A well-managed education system is vital to the principles of an informed public, to our American way of life which heralds individualism over authoritarianism. Our schools and universities stand as the frontline against tyranny and economic stagnation, and yet I feel that some in Washington have not given the topic its due attention. Just as the middle-class has been ignored, so too have the tools that directly benefit the middle-class and the poorer segments of our Nation been left without reform and expansion, necessary changes to promote a vibrant growth on the national scale.

Under President Bush, we have seen reduced investment into our future, the waste of billions for initiatives that simply did not have what America needs - a strong economic foundation. Without an educated, informed, and supported people, we are setting ourselves to a path of decline in a time where we should be strong, powerful in the face of global uncertainty, where the fall of Communism could either promise an expansion of the Free World, or instability.

I can promise the American people that I will do what is needed to ensure the tools required to follow the American Dream are available to everyone, regardless of what you look like; I can promise that some ten million people who are currently without employment can provide for themselves and their families; I can promise that millions won’t have to settle for declining wages; and I can promise that America will be for the Many, not the Few!

Thank you all, God Bless Nebraska, and God Bless the United States of America!”

Joe walked up to the podium the crowd was alive and buzzing. He cleared his throat.

"Many of you know me, you know what I've done for this state, and what I've done for my constituency. I stand for social justice and progress! Fiscal strength and moderation! The expansion of higher education to all those who want it and the ability to learn a trade for those who don't! Together we can achieve these goals! Together we can transform this district into the greatest in the state, and this state into the greatest in the country! America stands at a turning point, the evils of the USSR have come to an end and now we must decide what the post Cold War world will look like. I for one am determined to see our nation stand firm, we must offer an open hand to the Russian people and their former republics not strike them out of resentment. We must stand firm to the rising star that is China while incorporating them into the rest of the world and we must above all reinforce the core tenets on which this country was founded. Democracy, love, compassion and openness. I am Joseph Lynn and I say to you, together we go forward! Together we will all go forward into a brighter tomorrow! I will call upon you to carry me just as I will carry you so forward my friends! "

Excerpt from a speech given by Patricia Allen in Pittsburgh.

"...meanwhile we see the continued struggle of Pennsylvanians because of the decline manufacturing in Western Pennsylvania. I know this personally because my father was a steel worker who was laid off in the 1970s and never got his old job back. This is something that the recent recession has only exacerbated. What we need is change in Washington, change that will bring jobs back, that will see investment in new jobs, and change that will see retraining programs, because when it comes to it, the Bush administration has done nothing to reverse this trend of decline and has done nothing to lower unemployment. Well, I think it’s time we had a president who will do something to put our economy back on the right path and a senator who will join him in putting Pennsylvanians back to work! That’s why I think you should vote for Governor Long for president and me for senator, so that we can work together to make our economy work again.

State Senator Barnett, on the other hand, supports President Bush on almost everything except NAFTA. Do we really want a senator who will do nothing to help struggling families? Who will continue the Bush policy of inaction? No! We need someone new, someone who will fight for working families, who will fight for universal healthcare, who will fight for investment in education, and who will fight to make our streets and communities safer. You will not get that with State Senator Barnett, just someone who follows lockstep with President Bush on most issues, even when it is to the detriment of Pennsylvanian families. That’s why you should vote for change, for progress, for someone who will stand up for you, for someone who has stood with children and families for years. That’s why you should vote for me on election day, so we can work to make Pennsylvania better.”

NBC News Election Coverage

New York, NY - Former Governor Mario Cuomo has appeared at many of Alyssa Walker's, Democratic candidate for Senate in New York, campaign rallies across the state, but mostly in New York City. Governor Cuomo will make a a few more stops and will end with a rally before election day in Buffalo while Mrs. Walker is in New York City.

Baton Rouge, LA - Reports both from anonymous insiders of the Long campaign and polls have revealed that due to the controversy wracked nature of the Ross Perot campaign much of his support from the time when he led both candidates in late July has faltered. Much of this support has been siphoned off to Governor Long due to his populist rhetoric and the active efforts of his volunteers and staff to reach out to the supporters of Texas billionaire Ross Perot. The effects of this on the election may be massive, but there are still some weeks ahead for the President to counter.

In other news the NBC pollsters have released a new presidential poll with Long leading Bush and Perot, 45%, 39%, and 16% respectively.

Michael White attends a campaign event outside the University of Cincinnati

"As many of you here know experience is an important, great thing. I remember coming here for the first time and thinking "this is it". Thankfully I was wrong and it was only one part of the many amazing experiences I've had in my time on this Earth. Yet experience always comes to the forefront of any conversations regarding capability. Does he have any prior experience? Has she worked here before? Whenever you present your qualifications to a possible employer, they listen to all of it. Just as I'd hope any of you would listen to mine. 8 years as a State Senator. 8 years as a State Representative. One of many Vietnam veterans. If there is any man who knows this state it's me."

Excerpt of a speech given by Patricia Allen in Scranton.

"...and I know you understand the dignity of hard work. Yet how can there be dignity when people are out of work? That's what we've seen under President Bush so far with unemployment that continues to increase despite the end of the recession. That's what we'll continue to see if Barnett is elected senator because he supports President Bush on so many issues. We can't afford to see this tepid recovery continue. We've got to get Pennsylvanians back to work, get Americans back to work. That's why all of you need to vote for Governor Long and me, so that we can work to fix our economy and begin a new era of job growth and economic prosperity, but this can only happen if President Bush and State Senator Barnett are defeated on November 3rd. But together we can do it, I know we can.

That's why we need to work together to bring change that will revitalize the economy, to bring investment in the good paying jobs of tomorrow, in our education system, and in our infrastructure. We need to put people back to work. But not just that, we need to also stand up for our working families. That's why we need universal healthcare, so that all of you will be able to see the doctor without worrying about paying for insurance or having to pay out-of-pocket expenses for things your health insurance doesn't cover. That's why we need not just paid maternity leave but paid parental leave, so that parents can have the time they need to spend with their newborn babies and not worry about running out of money. You won't hear Republicans talk about these things because they don't want to stand up for working families and parents. But I will, as I have been since I was a lawyer in Pittsburgh defending working families and children. So if you care about the economy, if your care about your own pocket books, if you care about your children and their futures, then vote for me on Election Day, because you'll know that I will stand with you."

Excerpts from Craig Peachtree's congressional campaign event at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, a farming community in the 1st District...

"I come here to Seward to tell you why the Democratic Party are good for hard working voters like you and why a progressive and populist approach will help proud everyday American farmers. Now, Nebraska's 1st hasn't elected a Democrat to the House since Clair Callan lost in '66. As a Democrat, I will have to work doubly as hard to earn your trust and you know what? I embrace that because I do not take the trust of Nebraskans lightly. Life isn't always easy working in the fields of Nebraska's plains, but it's life lived right..."

"...now, I grew up in North Platte..."
A few scattered cheers are emitted from the crowd, "And I know very well that here in Nebraska we value our individualism, we are fiercely independent folk, and often we see the GOP peddling this idea that because individualism and independence is so highly valued throughout the United States, Americans must reject all forms of government programs. Well, let's be clear here, some of you here may remember, and surely your parents do remember, the harsh effects of the Dust Bowl, coupled with the Depression, which brought many Nebraskans to their news. And what did the GOP peddle? This same idea, individualism, "let the free market run its course". Well, FDR and the Democrats recognized that as Americans, we are a community and we care about our national neighbors. I see the same values of community in everyday Nebraskans when a town like Seward comes together for a farmer's market or when a barn burns down and the entire community pitches in to raise a new one. Individualism is a fundamental value of our community, but we must also remember community values. We as Americans are better when we pitch in, together, for common goals. That is why I am a proud member of the Democratic party and why I seek to bring progressive values to Nebraska..."

NBC Decision '92
With Host Tom Brokaw

hqdefault.jpg

Tom Brokaw: Welcome everyone to NBC's election center as we begin our reporting of the results tonight. Today America has gone to the polls and either President Bush will be returned to the White House or Governor Long of Louisiana will be our new President.

Tim Russert: Yes Tom, keep in mind that polls have consistently put Governor Long ahead of the President but he has never in a poll cross the majority threshold, mostly due to support for Ross Perot.

Tom: The amount of votes that Mr. Perot will receive is the story of the night. Remember that Indiana, Georgia, and Vermont polls have already closed, we will be making calls on those states momentarily, but we must say that polls have now closed in North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, New Hampshire, and West Virginia.

Tim: Ohio and Florida will be key states to watch in this election.

Tom: Our first results are in, we are calling the state of Indiana for President Bush, Georgia for Long, and New Hampshire remains too close to call.

To commercial break

Tom: Welcome back viewers, we have some very important calls for you. We are calling South Carolina and New Hampshire for President Bush. Virginia polls have closed but all states not called are too close to call.

Tim: Bush winning New Hampshire is very surprising and we can see from polls that while Buchanan won the state, the version of populism that the Democratic party nominee has embraced has seemed to turned off many voters in the famously fiscally conservative state.

Tom: We will be going to our reporter who is in Baton Rouge with the Long campaign for a few minutes while we wait for more information.

To Field Reporter.

Tom: We have the first Senate results of the night with the Republicans holding their seat in New Hampshire as Andrew Specter has replaced the outgoing Republican senator Warren Rudman.

Tim: No surprise there, Specter had consistently been leading his Democratic rival in the polls.

Tom: Hold now, Tim. We have just received a large spate of calls. Let's see here. Vermont, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Missouri, Maryland, Connecticut, and D.C. have all gone for Governor Long. That's 138 electoral votes for Long and 24 votes for Bush. Maine and Kentucky have closed but are too close to call.

Tim: Interestingly both in Pennsylvania and Illinois, where Long has won handily, the Senate races remain very much too close to call.

Tom: We'll be here to update you on those very important races.

To commercial break.

Tom: Well we have the calls for Maine and Kentucky. Both states have been taken by Governor Long.

Tim: Hold for a second Tom, we have just called the Illinois Senate race for Republican candidate Bill Swerski. This is huge, he was down 8 percentage points in the average of polls from the past two weeks. Exit polls are showing that large amounts of Perot voters went for him in the Senate race which means that despite Bush's loss in the state the Republicans in Illinois will certainly be celebrating.

Tom: That is very surprising Tim, now I must repeat for viewers who missed it over Tim's enthusiasm
*small laugh* that Maine and Kentucky have gone for Long. And we are getting news right now that West Virginia has also gone for Long.

Tim: And we have just received one of the most important state results viewers, Florida has been won by President Bush. That makes the total now at 155 electoral votes for Long and 49 for Bush.

Tom: Now we are going to our reporter in Chicago who is with the Bill Swerski for Senate campaign. Jim, it sure looks like a party over there tonight despite their nominee's loss in the state.

To the Chicago report.

Tom: Fascinating results in Illinois tonight. Meanwhile we must make a correction to state that we must remove one electoral vote from Governor Long. We called all the electoral votes for Maine, but their congressional splitting of votes means that Ross Perot has a real chance to win a vote in Maine and the race there is too close to call.

Tim: He spent millions upon millions on this race I think it would be very fair to get something out of this.

Tom: Yes, well we have results that Tennessee has gone for Long while Kansas and North Dakota have gone for President Bush. Ohio, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas are too close to call.

Tim: Texas!?

Tom: The results are very shocking, Mr. Perot has received much of his support in his home state. We go now to discuss the very interesting early results coming from Texas. Mary, go ahead.

To interview about the Texas election.

Tom: We are now calling Oklahoma for President Bush. Arkansas and Virginia have both gone for Governor Long. New York is too close to call.

Tim: While we can't call North Carolina for the presidential election we have called the Senate race for Governor Simon Prescott. The Democrats have succesfully held off a strong attack by the Republican candidate Lauch Faircloth.

Tom: We are keeping an eye on the Senate races about as much as the presidential here at NBC.

Tim: Now we should focus on the win in Virginia for Governor Long. Not all polls have closed but this lead is becoming very steep and President Bush tried very hard to keep a hold on the state.

To commercial break.

Tom: We are calling North Carolina and Ohio for Governor Long, while Alabama and Nebraska have gone for President Bush.

Tim: This is looking to be a very good night in Baton Rouge. Interestingly we have received reports that the 1st congressional district in Nebraska, a GOP dominated seat is too close to call. Anyhow, President Bush had to win Ohio and it is hard to see how he could win without it.

Tom: Now we are also calling Minnesota, Colorado, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Delaware for Governor Long.

To commercial break.

Tom: Let's see some good news for the Bush campaign finally tonight. We are calling Arizona, Wyoming, and South Dakota for the President.

Tim: None of these are very surprising. We know that these areas are GOP heartlands.

Tom: Sorry Tim, Louisiana just voted heavily for their own Governor. Wisconsin, New York, Mississippi, and Texas are still too close to call. Let's go now to our reporter in New York city who is with VP candidate Governor McShurtan.

To the New York reporting.

Tom: New York has been called for Governor Long! It seems that Jimmy Rex Long will be the next President of the United States of America!

Tim: And the Senate race in New York still remains too close to call, same with the Senate race in Pennsylvania.

Tom: Wisconsin is in for Long and Russ Feingold has been elected to the Senate defeating incumbent Republican Senator Bob Kasten.

To commercial break.

Tom: The Senate races in New York and Pennsylvania have been called, Alyssa Walker, Democrat, has defeated the incumbent Republican Senator Al D'Amato in a close race. Similarly, Republican candidate David Alexander Barnett has very narrowly held off a challenge to the retiring Senator Arlen Specter.

Tim: No matter what happens in California or elsewhere it appears pretty safe to say that the Senate and the House will not be much different in terms of Party control than it is now.

To commercial break and long discussions towards the end of the evening.

Tom: We have the results for Texas in now, both Bush and Perot's home state...

Tim: Mother of God almighty...

Tom: We are calling Texas for Governor Long, by the slimmest of margins.

Tim: This is a landslide victory almost on the scale of the Bush victory four years ago! Mississippi may still go for Long by a slim margin as well.

1992 Elections
Presidential Election
Actual%201992%20Long%20Victory_zpsqyowxydu.png
Governor of Louisiana Jimmy Rex Long has been elected President of the United States of America with 429 Electoral Votes. President Bush has conceded to his rival and seemed almost happy to be done with the bruising campaign. Governor Long took home 47% of the vote, Bush took 35%, and Perot took 18% of the vote.

Senate
1uW1rKH.png
The Democrats have gained two seats while the Republicans gained one, making it a one seat shift for the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party now holds 58 seats in the Senate and George Mitchell will remain Senate Majority Leader. Notable upsets were in New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and California.

House
The House of Representatives saw much contest across the country and many, many new members will be arriving at Capitol Hill in 1993. However, the notable results were the Democratic victories in MA 2nd District, NE 1st District, VA 5th District, NJ 10th District, and FL 10th District. Republicans were victorious in Montana's sole seat, OH 2nd District, SC 1st District, and MD 2nd District. Nathaniel Wood (Progressive) has succeeded in taking the Vermont At Large seat after Bernie Sanders resigned the seat to run for Governor of Vermont, which he would win two days following the general election.

((So everyone but, Somberg, Plank, Duke, Lochlan, TJDS, and Luftwafer has won their seats. Stay tuned for instructions on the next procedure. First I expect an inaugural address from President Long and an announcement of his cabinet.))

Patricia Allen ascends the stage with her family at her election night party in a ballroom somewhere in Pittsburgh after her surprising defeat to David Barnett.

"I just got off the phone with Senator-Elect Barnett to concede the race and to congratulate him on his victory. We both ran strong campaigns and I'm proud of how well we did, even if it was not enough to win. I'm glad I got an opportunity to meet people from across this great Commonwealth of ours and to hear their stories. It gave me hope that there was more that this government could do to help people who have been suffering because of the recession, because of crime, and because of an education system in need of reform. And even though I did not win here in Pennsylvania, President-Elect Long did, I'm certain that he will bring the fight for equality and justice to the American people. While I will not be able to work with him from the Senate, I will continue the fight myself as much as I can and, who knows, maybe I will get the opportunity to work with him in the future. I'd like to thank everyone who volunteered for our campaign, who knocked on doors, who called potential voters, and who worked hard to get people registered to vote. Without your efforts we wouldn't have been able to get this far. I'd like to thank my husband, Henry, and my children, Joey, Caitlyn, and Barry, for standing with me throughout this entire campaign. It was not an easy one but then were with me every step of the way.

Thank you all, and good night!"

Patricia walks off the stage with her family.

LONG DEFEATS BUSH IN LANDSLIDE; WASHINGTON LOSES IN CLOSEST GUBERNATORIAL RACE IN THE NATION
Key Republican Voters Siphoned Away By Libertarian Candidate, Support For President Bush
...
In Missouri, Governor Allan Washington lost his bid at re-election to a second term in what turned out to be the closest gubernatorial election in the country. Washington, pushing hard on a platform of four more years of his policies -- which have seen decreased taxes and an increased number of prison inmates -- did well among centrists, most Republicans, and conservative Democrats; his extremely tough stances on crime and prison sentencing, however, seems to have been lost on those libertarian Republicans that had helped to launch him into office in the first place.

Expanding prisons, despite lowering crime in St. Louis, was a key point of attack by both Governor-elect Calhoun and the Libtertarian Party candidate, businessman Josh Gibb. Though Libertarians were attracted to his promises of decreasing taxes -- especially the business tax, which, until previously, had been at an all-time high -- they were very clearly put off by his prison and crime policy. Governor-elect Calhoun used this to his advantage, hammering Washington on his "prison-filling policy" in both broadcast debates and in nearly every ad run on radio and television.

In the end, it was Gibb's campaign that would land the final blow. Governor-elect Calhoun secured 49.8% of the vote, being pushed into first place after Washington's libertarian supporters fled from his side. Governor Washington received 48.7% of the vote, a marked decrease from the 59% he won in 1988. Gibb ending up winning just 1.2% of the vote; enough, it is believed, to have sapped the Governor's strength, thereby handing the win to the Democratic candidate. It can also be suspected that Missouri was delivered to the Democrats due to Washington's strong endorsement of President Bush and his subsequent campaigning for him. This likely lost him favor among those blue collar workers that had supported him in 1988.

Washington congratulated Calhoun on his victory, hoping he would "do what is best for all Missourians in the next four years." He reiterated his beliefs in lower taxes, freer markets, and a position on crime "that will always make our streets a safer place for all." It is unknown whether or not he plans to retire into private life after leaving office in January.

"President-Elect Escapes Assassination"
NBC News
Baton Rouge, LA - At the late night Baton Rouge rally on the night of President-Elect Jimmy Long's landslide victory, the mentally disturbed brother of Governor Prescott of North Carolina, Judah Prescott brought a Smith and Wesson Revolver and fired at the President-Elect as he spoke four times before he was tackled by supporters and security. Mr. Long was tackled to the ground by the Secret Service as the shots were fired, with one bullet hitting him in left arm, and a second bullet hitting and killing the Secret Service agent that saved his life. The name of this fallen hero has not yet been released by the government. The President-Elect was brought to a hospital in Baton Rouge where they conducted a surgery and he is on the way to recovery with major injury to his left arm. Judah Prescott was arrested and is in the custody of the Baton Rouge Police Department and is being charged with First-degree murder and attempted murder.

Craig Peachtree gathers his supporters in an Election Day Celebration in front of the Nebraska State House...

"Lincoln! And all Nebraskans from across our First District, I cannot thank you enough! Tonight, voters here in Nebraska have ended a three decade drought!" The crowd cheers. "And Americans across this nation have sent a Democrat back to the White House for the first time in 12 years! And, by an overwhelming majority nonetheless! ... My oh my, remember today... Remember what it was like to be part of the movement that retook Washington, the movement that returned progressivism... A white faced young campaign staffer runs to the podium with a note. "My God..." Peachtree's face is ashen. "I... must announce that... an attempt has been made on the President-Elect's life." The room gaps and falls into a dead silence. "That is all we know at this moment... Please, pray for our President-Elect and, pray for this nation... it appears our joyful night must come to an end, so, please, pray that we might end such hate and pray that every man and woman sent to Washington will work for healing, work to make this nation better for every citizen, pray for our national soul tonight..."

Special Report: "Long Shooter Member of Aryan Nations"
Washington Post
Reports have confirmed that the brother of Senator-Elect Simon Prescott, Judah Prescott, who attempted to assassinate President-Elect Jimmy Long was estranged from the family for at least six months before the event. Investigations have traced Judah Prescott to the mostly Idaho based terrorist organization Aryan Nations, a Christian terrorist group, who famously participated in the events of Ruby Ridge in August. The weapon was provided by the Aryan Nations in Idaho. Possible links with Senator-Elect Prescott have not been put off the table, but investigators believe there are few connections, if any, between the Aryan Nations and the Office of the Former Governor of North Carolina. We will keep you up to date on this story here at the Washington Post.

Alyssa Walker made her way threw her election party. She made her way until she found the man she was looking for,
"Governor! I just wanted to thank you personally all the help you did in this election. If not for you, I almost certainly would have lost!"

Former Governor Cuomo turned to face Alyssa,
"Congratulations, Attorney General, or should I say Senator-Elect! Tonight has been a great night for the Democratic Party, and progressive causes in general. With President-Elect Long in the White House, and you in the Senate I think-"
He was interrupted by a staffer who leaned into Alyssa's ear, whispering something. Her entire face went white. She hurriedly excused herself from the Governor before taking the stage.
