Character: Nikolai Azarov
Position: Chief Security Officer
Bio: After serving in the White Army in the Russian Civil War, Nikolai fled following the Bolshevik victory. Eventually ending up in New York, he started out involved in his friendly neighborhood Russian mafia, until he drank all of his mafia boss's prized vodka and puked on his boss's daughter and wife. Follow this lovely episode, he fled to Virginia. After a shoot out with the local Nativists, he decided to move out West to California.

In California Nikolai joined the Marines, thinking it would be good pay and have nothing to do with cocaine-addicted angry Russians or armed Nativists. Fortunately, he was right and proved to be an excellent infantryman. Thanks to his prior experience with a tommy gun, he was given a submachine gun, which he loved like no other. When the resident asshole of the company stole it and shot himself in the foot, Nikolai helped him out by showing how it works and killing him. Apparently, the Navy frowns upon this and the Military Police promptly arrested him.

In a strange twist of fate, his former Mafia boss's son was in charge of the military prison he was sent to. Remembering Nikolai, he immediately thanked him for humiliating his father (who was promptly overthrown following "the incident") and made the charges of murder disappear. Months later, Nikolai was a fast-rising member of the Naval Military Police (with a submachine gun). He was eventually assigned to head security on a few cruisers before finally being assigned to his current carrier.

There is too much player that don't want to play, but if we want to play without them I think we should get a chance to do so. Maybe we should do some vote?

((We could do; let's give them a bit of time (maybe a day or so) then have a vote or something.))

Would the GM finally get this thing started, please? This is not an effing democracy.

If this doesn't start soon I'm going to have to quit. Sorry Bakerydog.

I have been busy but here you go:

The USS Yorktown one of the current ships in the American Navy.

With the recent attack on Pearl Harbor the United States Navy is crippled but the Carriers were out on missions in the Pacific. The Japanese Empire invades Guam and Wake Island which result in the new positions that allow the Japanese Navy to operate closer to the Hawaiian islands. Admiral Chester Nimitz split his carriers into task forces for different operations in the Pacific with the Yorktown being in Task Force 17 with overall command by Rear Admiral Frank J. Fletcher. Task Force 17 has orders to prevent Japanese expansion into the Solomon Islands and the Yorktown is accompanied by it's fellow carrier USS Lexington.

The main goal of Task Force 17 is to destroy the enemy fleet supporting invasions of the Solomon Islands. Both forces know that their counterpart is nearby but the question is who will find who first...

Note:The Update is small as it is open ended but I suggest first sending Reconnaissance flights out to scout out for the enemy forces. By the way this battle is the Battle of the Coral Sea.

As Commander of the Air Group, I order VS-5 to launch six flights of two SBD-3 Dauntlesses to scout, with VB-5, with 18 SBD-3 Dauntlesses, readied to go, each with a 2,000lb bomb onboard each, and the rest of VS-5 with six SBD-3 Dauntlesses with a 2,000lb bomb onboard each. CAP Is to be maintained with four Wildcats. Six Wildcats are to escort the Dauntlesses, while the other eight are to be readied if hostiles are detected. The reconnaissance force is to have each Dauntless with a 500lb bomb.
