Statement from the Sultan Abdülaziz I of the Ottoman Empire
It is no secret that the Persians are warmongers. After all, they declared a war against the peaceful Khanate of Khiva without a casus belli. The aggression against the small Khanate was bad in itself, but the latest action of the State of Persia is most disgusting, barbarous and brute! They declared a war against the Ottoman Empire! In addition to that, they brutally slaughtered many Ottoman soldiers that were defending the border areas. Not only were Turkish men lost, but there were many Balkans in the armies. The always so loving Sultan Abdülaziz I sends his condolences to everyone that lost an important family member or friend.Luckily the advancement of the Persian army have been stopped thanks to the most excellent fighters of the Ottoman Empire, especially the Brother Brigades that show how great the Ottoman citizens can be when united with a mutual goal! His Emperor wants to thank all the brave men of the Ottoman Army. He also sends his thanks to his most generous ally, the Austrian Monarch, for the help he has provided in the war. Austrians are the people to learn from, and the Persians are the people to never follow. The Sultan promises his whole Empire and any concerned foreign nations that the Eastern neighbours of the Ottomans will be pacified.

I must apologize for the radio silence of late, I was approached by a vast majority of current players who asked for the game to be reset to a new date of 1861. Seeing as the game had gone far beyond what even the maddest of historians would cause plausible, I agreed. I've been working out what exactly went wrong with this game, and making sure they do not repeat themselves. The sign-ups for the new game will be up soon, and I ask old players to rejoin. Feel free to consider swapping your nation in the new game, and don't feel limited by what you have to choose. Thank you for sticking with me and I hope to see you all in the new game.
