Connection to the forum was difficult yesterday afternoon... but seems to be better this morning.
I'd be happy if search was disabled again until the mod can be activated. After all we've done without search for so long, we can do for a little longer.
I still wonder what you guys means by slow. The forums hasn't been this good for months, except it was slightly faster around midnight when you guys began to complain.
All evening it would take ages for pages to appear... up till past 22h00 CET. After that, i gave up, played a bit and came back now, at which point it seems fast again.
I have now turned off search in most areas.
I'd rather turn off that than not have anyone reading/writing on the forum...

Yeah,I've had this problem for a long time,now,since the forum upgrade. 90% of the time I get a connection timed out error and have to reload the page,so it takes an extremely long time to be able to read anything. Used to visit frequently but I've had to cut down a lot.
BTW,the problem only seems to afflict some people running certain configurations or in some parts of the world,so there's no point wondering what the problem could be if you haven't had it.

What configurations is that? Seems weird that only some external computer issue should affect it? I have no problem on my iPhone, work station (WinXP and occational a W7 computer) or home (W7). It puzzled me, and if you know something about the reasons, I'd love to learn more of it.
I don't think it's a configuration thing. Some people experience it and some don't, because they live in different timezones. What SAS mentioned a few posts earlier (having issues on noon-afternoon Pacific Standard Time) fits almost perfectly with my experience of nigh-impossible browsing at late evenings Eastern European Time. My guess is that there are just too many people browsing the forum at those hours, because all Americans and most Europeans are awake at the same time.
And I am sure most of us would rather read with forum without a search function than not be able to read it at all. So, thanks for the update and temporary solution.
