I've noticed that whenever I open the screen to build something in one of my holdings the frame rate drops considerably. Im not sure if this was happening before 1.04 or not but the change is very noticeable.
Sorry for the late reply. I don't have any actual numbers (I will get some later today) but you can easily see this by watching things like unit animations for moving/fighting troops. Whenever I open the screen to upgrade a building all those animations slow down. Also if the game is unpaused it moves noticeably slower too. Even scrolling around the map is slower. As soon as the buildings menu is closed everything speeds back up. It also doesn't matter if it is building anything or not. This happens 100% of the time that I open up the buildings menu and sometimes other screens do it too but they are not as bad.
Ok using fraps I got the frame rate as 60 under normal conditions with the game paused and between 49 and 60 when unpaused. When I open the buildings menu it drops to single digits, between 5 and 8. This is worse than I had originally thought. I am running a pretty powerful machine with good graphics card so this shouldn't be happening.
This is not something that I have experienced or seen talked about by other users so it may well be something to do with your setup.
I'm not a technical whizz but there are plenty of users out there who are so can you post some more details of your setup to see if anyone can help you?
Also, this sounds to me like it belongs in the tech support forum rather than the bug forum so perhaps a moderator could move it?
