((Do have to agree with sneakyflaps though that you should try to get one or two of those mechanics up and running because people do get bored. In my experience they stay interested for the first few weeks than that's when people stop sending orders, or preferably say they're quitting.))

Thanks for the feedback! I've just implemented bare bone intrigue mechanics along with two new buildings. Hopefully, this will keep the players more interested. Please tell me if the instructions aren't very clear. I don't want any confusions for my players.

((Good luck with the game then, I will certainly be following it, and probably joining should the Duke of Burgundy come open. :) ))

Thanks! I appreciate your feedback and your support. I'll see what I can do with the Duke of Burgundy. If I do give out titles, I will need to first conquer Burgundy first. :) With the number of players I have now, there should be more than enough titles to give out. :p

Report 0 is finished along with a small bit of story! Check it out as it shows what wealth each players start with. Looks like four players is all we're starting with so I'll be starting tomorrow. Feel free to ask any questions regarding the first report and I'll try my best answering them. We will have a small vote tomorrow that will kick things off. You will also get a chance to use your wealth for buildings or, if you prefer, save up. Thank you all for your support once again! I'm hoping this will be a good one. :)

((Question; What are the names of the 12 provinces in France and which ones do we own?))

((Question; What are the names of the 12 provinces in France and which ones do we own?))

I've decided not to bother with names for simplicity sake. They all give the same benefits (one extra building slot/player, +5 ducats/year). What matters is how many provinces your family have. As I conquer more provinces in game, there will be more made available. Of course, each additional province will cost more.

The game has officially begun!!!

First vote is below (please bold your choice):

Foreign Diplomacy

It's imperative that France reclaim all of her cores. No one can question that. However, what path should France take afterwards?

A. We must focus internally, especially when dealing with our vassals. [France focuses on annexing her many vassals. Less inclined to go to war.]
B. There is no true peace until our neighbors bow before us. [France goes on the offensive against her neighbors whenever given the chance.]
C. England must be thoroughly defeated. [France must prepare to invade the British Isles in the near future like securing an alliance with Scotland.]

Note: I've played a bit into the game and reached the point where all cores have been reclaimed. This vote won't be so obvious now but it will make sense soon

Voting deadline: 20:00 PDT Friday, July 3, 2015

@Artistove: Is there any buildings you wish to purchase? Level 1 trading post is free for merchants without the need for province slots so I will have that constructed for you automatically. If you have any additional purchases you wish to make, please edit your post with your bolded choice for the vote. Thank you!

B. There is no true peace until our neighbors bow before us. [France goes on the offensive against her neighbors whenever given the chance.]

I, Philippe de Valois, wish to purchase a level 1 workshop with 24 ducats.

C. England must be thoroughly defeated. [France must prepare to invade the British Isles in the near future like securing an alliance with Scotland.]

The vassals are already well under out control. The ones who aren't though are the weak foriegners h as Provence and Burgundy who insultingly hold French lands. Though I agree war with England is inevitable we must look to consolidating our power, and removing potential allies of England in the process.

It's clear that we must consolidate our rule in Europe. The English can continue their pitiful existence while we grow stronger. However, we, the French, will jump on any opportunity if the English show any weakness. Let them tremble in fear when we get across the Channel for they will have nothing that could stand in our way.

Report 2 (1358 Start)

The nation of Provence was foolish to even resist the French invasion. Their pitiful army stood no chance as our glorious French soldiers destroyed them with ease. The war could have been a straightforward affair had the vile Brittany nation not intervene in the matter by declaring their own war. The interference of the Breton nation saw her taking a French core which was unacceptable. If the province was allowed to be ruled by the Bretons, the French would become the laughing stock of all of Europe. French officials kindly asked the Breton government for the province to which the French diplomat was returned with only his head on a platter. Such an insult cannot be tolerated and, as a result, war was declared. Brittany will pay for her actions towards the French government and the French people.

Support for War!!! (Event)

Wars can be draining on the nation's treasury. As the leaders of France, you are expected to provide some support in the form of ducats during France's time of need.

A. For the glory of France! (cost: -15 ducats)
B. I am willing to provide some support for our brave soldiers. (cost: -10 ducats)
C. I have a few ducats to spare. (cost: -5 ducats)
D. The nation could surely support two measly wars without my aid. (nothing)

Voting deadline: 16:00 PDT Sunday, July 5, 2015.

Note: Please bold your choice. If none is selected, D would be the default option.

A. For the glory of France! (-15 ducats)

My material wealth means little if France does not prosper as well. Let us teach those Breton bastards the meaning of the word fear.

I, Philippe de Valois, also wish to invest a further 15 ducats towards the development of France's provinces ((15 ducats towards purchasing another province)).

- Philippe de Valois

((Not sure how much I can invest a turn so will edit if wrong))

For the glory of France may she reign forever proud. The united wealth of Orléan shall follow the example of Philippe de Valois. Not only that we shall build a new workshop in Orléans for the purposes of expanding the of textile manufacturing of northern France. Hopefully we can one day compete with the Flemish under the rule of those vile Burgundian dogs.
-Renaud Orléan
1. Invest 50 ducats into purchasing a province.
2. Purchase a workshop level 1
[80 ducats - 50 - 24 = 6 ducats]

There is no limit to how much you are willing to invest a turn as long as you have enough. Please forgive me if I misunderstood but it seems like you picked A of the event along with the extra province and a level 1 workshop. Since this is an event, the value shown is the cost to invest in it while the outcome isn't known yet (I realize that this isn't very clear so I made a small edit to the post and future events). In other words: 50+24+15=89 ducats. Therefore, you don't have enough for everything. I apologize for any confusion.
