Summary

Description

1.7 runs fine for me until a war breaks out. Shortly after my troops start to move to the front line or begin a naval invasion, the game freezes but doesn't crash, so I have to force quit. This happens every war, except native uprisings.

I am playing on a Macbook Pro with Vic 3 on the lowest graphical settings and no mods. I've verified game files and done a complete reinstall.

Steps to reproduce

Launch the game. Declare war. Move troops to front. Game freezes

You are on the bare minimum of system memory (8gb) for this game to run at all on MacOS, so do unload every other app you can before starting the game.

If that doesn't help, from what I can see that model uses the Intel Iris 550 video system, is that right? If so that is not supported hardware for this game, so there may be little or nothing we can do about this. Certainly try reducing the video quality settings to the lowest you can stand.

Good luck!

It’s related to navies in sea nodes. Only happens on older macs

Edit: I created a mod that removes the circle things around the nodes when at war. It solved the problem for me. Runs just fine now.
