well my comp is 128.0 MB Ram, and i have no problems with any other game. The game is fine until I start a battle I usually have the setting on high for time span could that be it perhaps? Also whats' up with the nukes every time i try to use one it always freezes I've had to turn off my comp and start over like 20 times today very very frustrating. This happens sometimes with EU too but its gotten better with the patches i think but still happens. Can anybody help i can't even play its very frustrating!

Check the bug forum for the Nuke question.
As for your lock up. It could be bug related or it could be you AV drivers.
What are your specs.

I see KingW. hasn't bothered to reply. However I'm experiencing the same problem. I was never able to properly play EU II and had to put it on the shelf because of the constant freezes. Seems like HOI is going the same way. The freezes, most of which freeze up the whole system so I have reboot, are triggered by military actions. As long as I'm at peace there is no problem. Freezes oocur after splitting a fleet, engaging in air combat, moving air fleets, etc.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor MMX, 3DNw, 800 Mhz
Operating system: Windows 98
Memory: 158 MB RAM
Free disk space: 1.06 GB
DirectX 8.1

Sound: Yamaha DX-XG Direct Sound Driver
Sound driver: YDSXG-VXD (Guillemaut Corporation)

Video: Maxi Gamer Cougar
Video driver: nvdisp-drv

Game version: Strategy First. Patch 1.02 applied

I hope I don't have to shelve a great game like HOI so any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I now updated the drivers for sound and video, Disk Killer. I've been playing for a few hours now and everything seems to go smoothly. Hope it stays that way. Thanks.

Ryeuken, thanks for the suggestions. I don't really now what "paging file" is and since I'm basically an idiot in computers I daren't use your downloads for fear of getting in trouble. I remember when I tried to use "directXbuster" and "detonaterdestroyer": had to get outside help to get out of the mess I created.
