Installed Rome and Vae Victis last night and thereafter installed the 2.1 patch from the launcher, but I'm getting frequent CTD's (once every ten years in game time) and instances where the game just freezes.

I have updated my drivers to the lates, also updated DirectX and I'm running Rome in compatability mode and as an administrator.

My specs are:

OS: Windows Vista 32bits
Graphics Card: Geforce 9800 GTX
Processor: Intel Core Duo 2 E8400
Memory: 4GB

Please run DXDIAG, Save All Info, and post dxdiag.txt here (first delete everything after the Sound Devices section so it will fit). Also post your Rome/settings.txt and Rome/logs/system.log files. Note that if you use Vista and have installed the game in the suggested folder c:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\, the active versions of these last two files will have been redirected by Vista to a non-system directory, like c:\users\[name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Rome\. You may have to search your C: drive for them.

Here are the files you requested.

Also one strange thing I noticed when the game freezed is that the process used about 1200K Kb and kept increasing.

I can include my dxdiag etc if needed as well. This seems to happen much much more frequently when playing at max speed. It also tends to crash more when I click the on the diplomatic section when playing at speed and not paused. Edit: actually seems to crash any time I click on change minister on the diplomatic tab.
