Yes

I have disabled all mods

Yes

I am running the latest game update

Yes

Required

Summary

Frequent crashes when opening menus (Linux)

Description

Ubuntu 23.04, RX 480, i5-6500, Wayland

Since installing the update and Legacy of Persia today, I have had very frequent CTDs (one every 10-20 minutes of playtime, depending on what I'm doing.) The most frequent cause of this is clicking on my character portrait in the bottom left or pressing F1, but it has also happened when clicking on a character to see their travel progress, and various other actions which would cause a menu to appear or something like that. The game is more or less unplayable in this state. I am playing from the bookmarked Saffarid start.

CTD also happened one time while attempting to launch the game.

**Edit: I am playing the native version of the game.**

Steps to reproduce

1.Do one of the actions given above
2. CTD

Game Version

1.11.0 checksum 3123

Platform

Linux

I've had a crash earlier when clicking on a character through the "you can make an alliance with this guy, because he's of your house" item in the TAB-list (the poppable "important things" list that appears when you press Tab key, I have no idea how that UI element is called).

Also on Linux.

I have the same crash 3 times in 10 minutes of playing on Fedora. It does not matter how the character panel opens, I had it occur by clicking on a county on the map, and clicking on a person's spouse.

Are you all using the native version or running through proton? I'm running on Fedora through proton and it is pretty stable.

The native version for me is plagued with bad performance and visual bugs (clothing shaders are wrong). I can give it a whirl for long enough to see if it crashes for me too.

No native, but using proton is a good shout. Thank you.

Edit: Playing for 30 minutes with proton no crash so far.

I have had two more crashes today, each after maybe 40-50 minutes of playtime. One was on clicking my spouse's portrait on my own character's tab, the other one was clicking the realm banner next to a spouse candidate in the spouse selection window.

I sent crash dumps for both using the post-crash dialog, so hopefully PDX will be able to do something about them.

Oh, and I'm using the native Linux version. I'm not giving up on it, because apart from these recent crashes, it has worked quite well for years. :)

Same type of issues here. I have had around 10 crashes since the latest update. It happens when clicking on various characters' portraits to view their details.

Running native version of the game with no mods. Crash dump attached.

Same is happening a lot to me, got quite a few crash dumps here. Ironically the crash reporter always fails to send for some reason (always has, frustratingly)

Sent multiple crash reports via the crash reporter.

Looks like crash mostly happens when clicking on a portrait.
No mods, all DLC's.

i have the same issues on:
CPU Model: Intel
CPU Speed: 3500MHz
CPU Physical Cores: 4
CPU Logical Cores: 4
System Memory: 40960
OS: OSX Version 11.7.10 (Build 20G1427)
OS Language: en_BE
GPU Name: AMD Radeon Pro 575
GPU Vendor: AMD

clean install, no mods, files verified on steam, happens with LoP enabled/disabled
every 10-20 minutes game crashes when i click a portrait

Same here, I am on Linux Ubuntu and using version 1.11.0.1, the game crashes frequently and normal gameplay is impossible. Since the same issue is also reproducible in MacOS this is probably an issue with the Vulkan renderer, unfortunately switching to OpenGL doesn't seem to be an option in the launcher anymore.
