Information

I have disabled all mods

Yes

Required

Summary

fresh steam install tries to load libary from wrong directory

Expected Result

The game starts to the main menu

Actual Result

The game shows blank screen with a white cursor

Steps to reproduce

A fresh intall of the game on Windows 11, with Steam Build-ID 11558297

Platform

Steam

Game Version

1.17.1-f4

Optional

Description

In the output_log.txt it states that it cannot load a libary called "libColossalNative" or "ColossalNative" from the folder "Cities_Skylines/Cities_Data/Mono/x86_64/".

The game contains 2 files with ColossalNative in the name under Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\Plugins folder.
Copying the files in the following way fixes the isue for me:
Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\Plugins\x86_64\libColossalNative.so to Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\Mono\x86_64\libColossalNative.so
Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\Plugins\ColossalNative.dll to Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\Mono\ColossalNative.dll

There is no bug of this nature in the game - if there were everyone would get this! Quite why that happened to you I'm not sure.

Make a new Windows user on this computer and log into it with that. Do you get the same problem there?

Before i copied the libaries, i already tried it with a different (new) windows user to the same effect.
I also reinstalled the game from steam, updated Windows and the Paradox launcher with no change.

The game only started after i manually copied the libaries.

Well that is bizarre, I've not seen any similar report in all the years since this game was released. I cannot imagine what could be causing that to you, I am sorry!
