After 3 previous Friday games over the past several months that have ended for one reason or another, us Friday players are beginning to look very bad. Even the Saturday players have finally finished a game! It is therefore imperative that we retrieve our honour and reputation!

The Proposal: to start a new Friday Game.
The Host/Organizer: Gaius Marius I (looking for better host)
The Time: 23:00 EST
The # of Players: 6, unless better host turns up.
The Countries/Players:

Japan (for now) - Gaius Marius I
United Kingdom - clamp2004
Russian Empire - Sterkarm
Kingdom of Prussia - TheGeneral
France - Strategist

OK, I am in it again, and I will be there, although I have a holiday coming up in august, and will maybe miss another have to be away another time in the next few weeks as well... (Am probably going to London for a weekend...)

I will take any nation you suggested, Though it maybe better no to give me Russia or the OE as I have played those before in MP and also no UK because its too powerfull to be played by me, Im afraid I would get WC feelings ;)... Austria and Prussia are fine by me, as is France though I hate the POP growth modifier for France... and if we have enough players to take Russia, the UK, France, Prussia, Austria and the OE, I would be willing to take TS as well... (Yes, I consider the OE as very important as its the nation that can ally Russia against Austria and Germany, or it can ally Austria against Russia... It is the important nation to maintain the balance of powers.)

EDIT: I also would like to establish some rules before we start the game. I dont really like gamechanging rules like not colonising before [...] or dont attack uncivs before [...]. What I mean are rules on exploits, and rules on how to make (if needed) new rules. Also some RPing rules might be nice, though not neccesary.
 
you'll note i left a section in my first post, for when we work those things out (rules, and guidelines for conduct and roleplaying as necessary)

pick whatever nation you want, if we even get more players than just you and me, i'll be pleasantly shocked. i was thinking i might attempt to play Japan in MP, though i'll of course take a more important nation first if necessary

Ummm... First thing to happen is that in 1836 Persia and Korea are splitted between UK and Russia. In 1837 Russia gets tzar of all slavs and UK annexes Persia. 1838 UK annexes indian minors, and south east asia, Russia takes Afghanistan, the sultanates, and egypt. 1839 UK and Russia invade China and partition it.

Thats what you mean LL? ;) No I think Russia and the UK should be played by less experienced players to counter their benefits, though if Sterkarm really wants to take Russia its fine by me, but it would be more fun if he'd take any of the little less powerfull nations. (Especially if we dont get many players :()
 
Russia is my dream nation... I don't want to conquer, only to turn all monarchies into liberal democracies. Especially Russia. Full social and political reforms by 1910. Eat that, commie Bolsheviks.

would be nice to have ya around for more than 3 sessions, kinda does kill the point of ya playing, as you wouldn't get to finish the game, and see how your nation did. If you find your broadband isn't going to be lost, then by all means, come back and find a spot if we have one.

it'd be a battle of titans, thats for sure.

unless there is a reason to do otherwise, any player can pick any nation.

i'm thinking that in case of lack of players, i'll take Prussia again, as the nation more important than Japan.
 
What times are you thinking of playing?

I suppose I could sub for someone if they're away though. Probably better than AI
 
i'm sure subs will be needed at some point, just follow the thread to see if anyone is asking for one.

@Husayn: Time is TBD, though i don't think it will be earlier than the start time of the last game. I want to find myself some summer weekday employment this coming week, so i don't know how friday times will work out for me as of yet.
 
Hello everyone

I would be interested in playing as Prussia or USA or Austria, assuming that the time is convenient for me too. Since you guys are in the USA and the game is played Friday night, I suppose I could start as late as 24:00 BST (GMT +1h or 19:00 EST).

If this is not possible for you, no problem. In an case I would like to know what time you have decided. :)

It really depends on the time you guys are playing. If it is around 6-7 AM Danish time then I can probably be in... I gotta reserve my friday nights.
If so I call either Prussia or France.
 
@Clamp: what is 6-7AM Danish time, in EST?


@TheGeneral: i've still not decided yet, going to be doing a couple things today, that will likely give me some idea as to timing of play. Your times don't leave me with much leeway, and i don't know how your time compares to Clamp's Danish times. We'll just have to see what works for everyone. Are the countries you posted, in order of preference?
