Hello there! This is my first Victoria 2 AAR and it will focus on the good old US of A. Thanks to new map courtesy of the Alternate History Mod, this AAR should differ from the typical USA AAR (though I’m keeping the layout of the map a secret till the first post
My personal goals are:
-Reclaim Continental United States
-Become the #1 Industrial Power
-Always take a side during a crisis
-There is to be no isolationism!
-Take interesting ideas from the audience
(Short Prologue)

Before there was a United States of America there were thirteen independent English colonies along the Atlantic Coast of North America. To the North the French had carved out a substantial swath of territory, founding such settlements as Quebec and Montreal. To the South the Spanish had claimed most of the Caribbean and Latin America and to the East the natives united into a savage confederacy in order to continue their savage warpath against the European intruders.
The colonies chafed under the oppressive rule of the British for many years until finally they banded together and declared their independence. The war was long and hard fought but thanks to help from powerful European and Native allies, when the smoke cleared the British had been defeated and a new Republic was born. The British had in fact been so throughly defeated that their century old compact binding the British Isle together had dissolved in on itself, the United Kingdom was no-more.
The provinces of the Old English Empire, for the most part, remained loyal to England and Canada was added to the Empire in the early months of 1781. In the early 19th century a fabulous French general by the name of Napoleon Bonaparte, with his American and Italian allies, began his war of conquest in Europe. After several defeats on both land and sea the English were forced to retreat to the Isles. Unfortunately for the English, the French invaded Scotland in 1803, and subdued the country within a matter of months. Napoleon then personally led the invasion of England, completely conquering the country by the spring of 1805. Not willing to give up the fight the majority of the British North American colonies, most notably Canada, declared their sovereignty from the Empire and launched continued the war against the United States. The Canadian 3rd Army defeated a large American force at Fort Ticonderoga, and then shattered another outside of West Point, driving the Americans south to New York which was promptly seized. Boston fell to a small Canadian force shortly after. By the time of Napoleon’s defeat at the hands of a Polish-Lithuanian Confederation, New England had fallen to the Canadians and the Caribbean countries had done serious damage to American shipping.
(This part is the small portion I played beforehand)
In the twenty years since the war the United States has patiently waited for the opportune moment to strike, and that moment came in the strangest of ways. The Texan war of Independence was just one stunning defeat after another for the Mexican Army but just as it seemed that all was lost American forces intervened on the Mexican side and crushed the Texans, securing an alliance with the country as a result. With their new Southern Ally the US declared war on Canada, and soundly defeated them reclaiming New York, Massachusetts, and the rest of New England for the Union.
