Okay so I have installed a few mods I want to use.

Basic Panic
Less Head Injury
JK_Variants
JK_Rarity

These have worked in the past with no issues. I installed them as mods via the "official" loader and everything worked fine. Started a new campaign, got things rolling and then when I go to load the campaign to continue later I get an infinite load look. The loader just keeps spinning...

So did a clean installed, made a Mod folder as needed and installed ModTek. Installed my mods and everything seemed fine, until went to continue the new campaign I started and again the same infinite load loop.

The mods I am using are supposedly official support ready so I am banging my head here. HELP

I believe the “Official” Loader is borked for the time being... as is any Campaign you started with that Loader.

If you again do a Clean Install (to include removing particular Hidden Folders/Files) then use ModTek to load your Mods, you should be able to begin a NEW Campaign.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this should permit @UncleGamer to get his a campaign underway?

This sounds like an issue I've run into occasionally. I discovered that if I go into the mod selection screen and exit it without making any changes, the exact same file will load properly.

Give it a try and let us know if it works for you also.

Okay so I found if I verify the files (this removes my custom unit logo) then the game works fine for a few loads. Wondering if that file is the issue. I also had to one time flush the mod cache and let it find all the mods again (this is using official folder).

Okay this kept cropping up until I started using Steam directly to launch the game. (I had been using a desktop shortcut made by Steam). Sounds silly but just using the launch putton in Steam and the issue vanished. VERY ODD

I'm having the same issue you described, UncleGamer. Just to clarify, is the 'best practice' to:
1) Use the Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\Mods directory, and NOT the Documents\My Games\BattleTech\mods directory?
2) Use ModTek and NOT the organic HBS mod loader? (this is despite the recent updates to the mods to include the 'modstate.json'?)
3) Uncheck all the mods in the HBS mod screen, and uncheck the 'mods enabled' button?
4) Clear/Delete the Documents\My Games\BattleTech\mods\HBS Cache & Database files?
and finally, 5) launch the game from within Steam?

And of course, this assumes either:
1) clean install of Battletech, or
2) verified files through Steam

Is that all correct?
