I'm posting this here, but I'm not sure it's the right spot. I'm playing CK:DV with DVIP, so it may be that DVIP is the problem. I'm still pretty new to the game, trying to learn the basics, but I know that this probably shouldn't happen:

In my current game, I'm playing Leinster. I've played for several years, the original duke is still alive, with his two sons. The 2nd, younger son, Enna, is currently my heir in the Isle of Mann. I gave him a Gaelic wife. However, they ended up with a Norwegian son named Gudrod, who in turn is currently Enna's heir.

There must be something in the water at the Isle of Mann, because one of his court members, Welsh, and his wife, Gaelic, also had a Norwegian son.

I suppose I'd need to edit the save game file to fix this, but I'm also concerned it's going to keep happening moving forward in the game (and possibly future games). Any suggestions?

I think I've seen a few events in DVIP that relate to culture, but I don't think it's anything major to worry about.

I remember one event, playing as an Gaelic vassal of a Norwegian ruler, where you had several options - one gave you a chance to befriend a fellow Gaelic vassal in order to rebel against the liege, but that's the only option I remember of the three that the event had. I haven't read enough of the events to see if there are any others.

Ok, thanks.

And in the end, the game 'sorted' it out for me: that first son & heir-apparent died in infancy, and the second son ended up Gaelic and is now the heir (my starting ruler having died) and is thankfully doing well. I ended up with a lot of illnesses/stress of adults & deaths of children in a short span of years, but no provinces had illness markers. Go figure.

This game certainly knows how to punish you in a hurry. :)
