I have Stellaris 4.0.8 on Windows 11, this problem happened in Stellaris 3.14. When I go to the galactic map there is a default "tilt" to the map. I want to look straight down at the galactic plane so I change the tilt. But the game does not remember this tilt.

1. Go to galactic map. Adjust tilt.
2. Go to solar system map, do something.
3. Click "M" to go back to big galactic map, tilt I had set is gone.

Could this be filed as a bug or feature request? I'd like to save my tilt in the big galactic map.

It feels like a feature. Personally I like it because when I look something at an angle temporarily (for example to look at a battle or before 4.0 to place an habitat expansion on a moon hidden behind a planet) I prefer that the view resets after. And I guess many player prefer it that way too.
But a way to save the camera angle could indeed be useful to some. I don't know if that option exist though.

The camera resetting is a feature, not a bug.

If you're okay with modding, you can change this to a fixed value at whichever angle you want.

Go to Stellaris/common/defines/defines.txt and search for:

Code:
        GALAXY_MIN_PITCH                        = 30.0    # in degrees
        GALAXY_MAX_PITCH                        = 85.0    # in degrees

Change both values to 85. This will give you a fixed top-down camera angle. Or as close as you can get, as the game doesn't allow values higher than this.
