Game becomes really buggy when ruler dies on pilgrimage with only the heir in entourage

Description​

My ruler died on pilgrimage, accompanied only by his son (heir). It disabled all the buttons at the top of the screen (can't click them). And no windows pop up anymore. I get wars declared on me, and it says nothing about it on the screen. It's like my dead father is still king, but I'm playing as the son. I didn't get the "you died" window either.

Steps to reproduce​

Open my save file. Go on pilgrimage to the most distant location possible, make it as cheap as possible, remove the caravan master, etc. It should say there is only one person in the entourage (my heir). Wait for the random event where there is a chance to die, use it.
