Game bugs?

Hi, I am currently playing Hearts of Iron II- Armageddon as the UK. I am having problems when I research escort fighters, they will not appear on the production screen after I have researched them, I have never experienced this problem before. I have researched them over two levels now and still nothing appears. Is this a bug within the game or am I doing something wrong

Help please.

They are attachments for units rather than independent units so you will find them in that submenu of production.
