Game causing computer to crash

Description​

The new patch (and the 1.9.7 beta) has caused my computer to crash several times. The game will freeze and I'll be stuck on the game but I'm still able to only move the mouse. I can't bring up the task manager and the only way to fix the problem is to restart my computer by holding down the power button.

Steps to reproduce​

It happens seemingly at random. I've had it happen while loading the game, and it happens at random times while playing when nothing particular is happening in-game.

I see you have Windows 11 24H2; this can be the cause of this problem, it is a severely broken Windows update that has caused problems across the whole gaming - indeed computer - industry.

Definitely worth a shot - let me know if that does help you! Note that to test it you don't actually need to use Processor Lasoo, just Affinity in Task Manager (for testing purposes anyway). I'd suggest you look at this step first!

Some affected users have definitely seen that help them with this issue.

And finally, in the launcher's game settings menu switch the renderer to Vulkan.
