The game will close randomly during play, for no apparent reason, it also leaves no crash log of any kind. its been happening for me and my friend on the Microsoft store version since 3.10, still happening on 3.12

Any mods involved?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.txt

I have the UI overhaul mod, but i have had it happen on earlier versions without it, and my friend also has this same issue. I attached all the files, but i don't see a exceptions.txt in the logs folder

We can't help with modded games at all I'm afraid. You get this under the current game patch in a campaign that has never had any mods used in it?

The lack of an exceptions.txt (or .log) usually means the cause is outside the game, but let's keep looking.

If dxdiag.txt won't attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log files please.

i thought i attached the DxD file, my bad. i'll remove the mod and see if i crash again, which my friend just crashed now while i was typing this.

I see a couple of Bluescreen (BSoD) events in that dxdiag. Have you seen those happen, are they related to this game or something else? Next time you get one record the text on that screen for us please.

Interesting that dxdiag records crashes in stellaris.exe but there is no exceptions log, very unusual - usually it'd be both or neither.

No other obvious issues in that file, but make sure Windows is up to date with its Update utility. AND run the Microsoft Store app, Library, get Updates. Then reboot.

i Haven't seen any blue screens while on my pc, and no text appears when the game just closes, but ill check and see if everything is up to date, and the game crashed on my 2nd monitor while i was typing, nearly exactly 30 minutes from last crash

i have everything updated, and my friend told me to mention the fact that he has windows 11 and i have 10, and he's had this happen to his laptop and pc with microsoft store stellaris

Well it is not impossible there's a bug that only affects the Gamepass edition, but that wouldn't be my most likely explanation for what you are seeing.

Also, your friend's problem may or may not have the same cause as yours. I suggest we concentrate on you, and your friend can make a new thread here.

Do you have any saves that seem to trigger this fairly reliably? If so attach one here please.

After one of these crashes can you load a save then carry on past the crash point? Or it always crashes then?

Is there any particular action or event that seems to trigger them?

There's no save that causes this to happen more frequently, it usually happens almost exactly 30 minutes from starting the game from launcher.
I can play past the crash point, it only seems to be crashing the game itself, not the save.
There seems to be no particular even that crashes the game, since I've let it run in the background in the home menu while I'm doing something else and still crashing.

That actually sounds like overheating. Right-click on stellaris.exe, properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullscreen optimizations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply, and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select the fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

If that doesn't help: Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 20 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

I tried the above steps, then i did the temp record thing. The temps on cpu peaked at 83.1C and the gpu peaked at 74.0C, but were not at peak when it crashed.

Anything over 80c is a problem IME! Unusual indeed to see the CPU hotter than the GPU.

Clean out all air vents it has (compressed air cans are good for this). Make sure airflow to them is not blocked by anything like walls, books or whatever.
If that doesn't drop the temps enough, you probably have a faulty fan or a heatsink/thermal paste problem. You may need professional help at that point.
