I'm sure others of you out there have said to yourself, "I wish there was a command to do X," or "Being able to just do X would make things a lot simpler."

As for some of mine:

Make carpeting the floor more like digging tiles. That way, I can click drag from one corner of the room, to the other side, and the game will place the tiles down as long as I have the resources. If I don't, then it will buy as much as it can, starting from the first corner then working its way out. Same concept with the walls.

When digging, I'd like to see and option where I can draw a line strait down, instead of having to guess where underneath that level I'm clicking.

When building ladders, it’s difficult sometimes to guess the correct floor tile, to reach into the single hole 5-10 tiles up. It would be nice if I could place the ladder in the position I want on the top floor, and then hold a button it would extend the ladder down to the ground removeing the guesswork.

Anyone else have ideas?

1. I like the idea of laying tiles like we do digging, however I would not want the game deciding for me how much it is allowed to spend of my gold to buy the resources necessary to accomplish it. I don't want to count tiles as I'm trying to lay down tiles to make sure that I have enough of the necessary resource and I don't want the game just spending my gold. It would be better if it simply layed out as much as the resources you have available and marked the rest to be done when you get those resources.

2. You can easily accomplish this without guessing by placing your digging icon over the floor that you already chose to dig and then pressing the associated hot key that makes the game go down one level, if you hold your cursor perfectly still it will snap into position with the block you ordered to be dug out above it.

3. Not entirely sure how or if it works, but I thought we could simply place a ladder in the top most block and it would fall down to the lowest level and then continue on like that as long as we keep placing ladders on squares that don't have a ladder underneath them. I just can't remember if I'm allowed to place a ladder in the very highest block of a single hole or if I have to place the ladders from the bottom up to the top. I know that ladders already fall down when the diggers dig a new hole underneath them so if I can't place the ladders in the highest block, I really should be able to.

I really like these ideas.:)
1) Just like CB said, the tiles should be laid out as much as you can until you run out of resources.
2) I also wrote a similar suggestion in my thread.
3) Nice idea but it should be so that you place the ladder at the bottom and then keep clicking that ladder until it stacks to the top.

This is what I meant, obviously didn't explain it very well, and I do like your addition of having it marked and so it can be filled in later when you get the resourced. (When I said buy, I didn't mean spend gold to get the marble, I meant spend the all the marble to buy the floor tiles.)

As for the ladders, no, you have to place it on the ground/bridge or on top of another ladder.

@lolwarrior, I have no real problem building the ladder up, my problem is building the ladder down from the hole in my upper floor.

Imagine poking a hole in the lid of an empty jar, and then gluing a stick to the bottom of the jar hoping that it lines up with the hole in the lid. It can be done, but it would be nice to stick the stick threw the hole down into the jar.

This feature is in the sims games, and there you always see how much a selected area will cost before you confirm and place the tiles - so no need to count tiles. :3

Since you asked what our ideas would be, here is mine:

I really like the ability to click on the Dwarf icons on the top UI to be able to focus the camera to the Dwarf. And then clicking through obviously goes through all of the Dwarves that are of that Class.

But . . . . . . I think it would be very nice to be able to right click on those icons and a dropdown list would appear. In that list would be all the Dwarves of the Class you right clicked on. It would show there basic stats. Like name, level, Sub-Class, current activity (sleeping, fighting, etc), energy level, things like that. Then if you clicked on them from here you could focus the camera to them as well. It would also have the plus sign here if they can be upgraded and you could upgrade them right from here.

That’s the one command I want in the game.

I hadn't thought about that, but I really like your idea.
