I've had CKII for a few days now, and its run fine most of the time, but for whatever reason a few days ago I've encountered this weird problem every time I've started the game. Every few seconds it just freezes for like 20-30 seconds, making the game, not unplayable, but incredibly frustrating. It's not even a full freeze, the music continues and I can still move my mouse cursor. I've tried uninstalling twice, but that didn't work. I've never installed any mods, so it's not that. I know it's not Autosaving, because I that set to Yearly and always happens on January 1st in game, yet my game freezes sometimes within seconds of the last, as well as on the main menu. Is there anyway to fix this or am I just going to have to suffer?

I take it your first 'a few days' number more than your second 'a few days'? IOW the game ran Ok for a period before this happened?

Does this happen right from the start of a new game? Or on;t in mid or late game, or only after playing for a period?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 30 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Uh, would you mind explaining this a bit more to me? Like, am I supposed to save the information thing to a specific file, or just any?

I need three text files to see your computer and game setup.

The first one dxdiag.txt you need to generate in the way I described. The other two already exist on your computer.

Please attach them all here.

Alright, thanks. Hopefully these are the right ones.

Edit that settings.txt as follows:

refreshRate=60
fullScreen=yes
borderless=no

I don't see any other real problems in there, so if that doesn't help please get me the temperatures I asked for. thanks.

It happens right from the start of the game, and I will edit the settings. Thanks, I'll let you know if that fixed it.

EDIT: Wow! It looks like that actually fixed it, thanks!
