Do you mean mods of your own that you are altering? or mods from Steam that you are enabling/disabling?

And, are you sure all those mods have been updated to work with the latest game version?

Mods on the workshop, I am not sure all are updated, but all work in game, the issue is that changing the mods layout and applying them cause the game to exit to the desktop.

Then when you start up again, it's all okay? s that right?

And has this always happened? Or only since when?

Yes, once you restart, if you dont go into mods and start load the game - it loads fine and you can play.
But any change in mods -(the message box in game that mods have changed) - it get stuck for a second and then the game just exit, like the number of mods is overwhelming to it.

You do have quite a number of mods, I see. It is possible it is indeed just the sheer number, but it could also be that one or more of them are not compatible since the latest game patch.

The only way I can think of testing for that is by disabling, say, half of the mods and start a new test prison. If the problem still happens then it's one of the mods still enabled. Keep doing that until you narrow it down by binary division.

Of course that's a lot of trouble, which you may not want to embark on!
