Have exact same issue as in https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/game-keeps-crashing-randomly.1497087/ on 2 machines (notebook and standalone PC), both with internal GPU (like in the linked report). Happens both in HoI and Stellaris.
"-opengl" didn't help as it broke interface (UI started to blink)
Version 3.3.2, no mods, only some DLC.
Crash can happen 2 minutes into game, can happen several hours into. Usually 1-2 hours.

That thread looked like a hardware problem, but the user stopped responding after a while so we'll never know for sure.

As it's happening in two games on two machines, it's hard to see what could be the root cause of the problem - potentially the issue on the two machines, OR in the two games, are actually different.

Has it always happened in both games? Or they were okay up to some point?

If the latter, did it first happen in each game and each machine at the same time?

After one of these crashes, can you start the game right up again and resume? Or you need to reboot, or wait a while, before it will run again?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , exceptions.log .

I got back to PDX games about month ago. It started happening right away. Before that i last played Stellaris/CK3 in 2020, both were ok at the time. But notebook is new (never tried to run games there before), PC is one where i played games previously, but in 2020 it had decent GPU and some other hardware differences. System on PC is fresh install, Hoi/Stellaris too.

There is small differences possible on crashes
1. i get brief visual freeze (music still playing, can move mouse but UI doesn't respond)
2. All connected monitors (tried with 1 and with 2) briefly go black
3a. I see white window on monitor where game were running and second one gets back OR
3b. I go straight to desktop on main monitor, second one gets back OR
3c. As in 3b but with crash reporter
4. Music still plays on that time and quite probably if game is unpaused it is running too, at least i can confirm that once in HoI i left PC after crash and my ironman save file went like year further. You can successfully Ctr-alt-del game
5. Usually you can start game again right away, but once i had steam not recognising that game process already finished after ctr-alt-del, had to reload steam. On next 2-3 crashes i got same issue with steam, comp reboot helped with that.

Savefile in ironman Stellaris usually 1-4 in-game months earlier than date of crash, probably it is regular autosave. I always can continue to play normally, going much further than date of crash, never seen that some specific date was creating issues.

No exceptions.log in the folder currently

Strictly speaking these games are not supported on any integrated Intel video system. But that would usually just cause slowness, not crashes.

But the crash stack in exceptions.log explicitly points to the Intel driver:
Stack Trace:
1 igdumdim64.dll OpenAdapter (+ 7802)
2 igdumdim64.dll OpenAdapter (+ 164223)
3 igdumdim64.dll OpenAdapter (+ 29654)
4 igdumdim64.dll OpenAdapter (+ 603340)
5 igdumdim64.dll OpenAdapter (+ 602236)

And dxdiag is reporting a serious problem with the Intel Xe hardware or driver:
Windows Error Reporting:
+++ WER0 +++:
Контейнер ошибки LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_igdkmdn64.sys_GEN12LP_HWS_DX9_BBHANG, тип 0
Имя события: LiveKernelEvent

AND its driver is from 2020! So please check with Lenovo support for a newer one. Failing that, Intel themselves:

Good luck!

Are you still getting those crashes in igdumdim64.dll and igdkmdn64.sys , as above? If so, I fear for your hardware I'm afraid!
