game crashes at end of intro films

I am using winxp sp3 and cannot get East India Company to get beyond the intro screens. The game crashes. I have tried resetting the graphics option.txt and adding an exception to DEP. i have a 2ghz del iwht 1250 ram

What other suggestions are available?

Have you installed any patches? Please post the log.html from the folder the game is installed to.
