Information

I have disabled all mods

Yes

Required

Summary

Game crashes at start up after pressing PLAY

Expected Result

The game to start

Actual Result

Get pop-up: Oops! The game crashed. The crash report folder named "date-time" next to game executable. It would be great if you'd send it to the developer of the game! (screenshot attached)

Steps to reproduce

Starting the game and press PLAY button

Platform

Steam

Game Version

Cities: Skylines 1. Unable to play, unable to enter game. Unable to retrieve version from Main Menu.

Optional

Description

I have uninstalled the game, and installed it fresh from Steam again. Making sure it had not to do with mods. The crash still appears. So I'm unable to get passed the start screen with the RESUME and PLAY button. In the past I have bought a couple of DLCs (next to the ones that came with (updates of) the game. However - do not remember the list. I did not play the game for some time (months). Files attached from crash dump and screenshot of crash pop-up.

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
Extract from it cities.bat
Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
Right click the game in your Steam library
Go to properties
Select Launch Options
Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
X out of that screen
Run the game

Sorry for that problem!

Please make your own new thread n future, thanks.

Please check your mods against this list:
Make sure to check the tab "Broken"

If you still get this problem after removing or replacing any bad ones, attach here the game's log file:
…\Steam\steamapps\common\CitiesSkylines\CitiesData\output_log.txt

Hi, think I did what you described: (see attached screenshots):

Pasted the bat.file next to cities.exe in same folder. Now when I exectued Cities. it immediately gives the error, the RESUME/PLAY starting screen did not appear. See screenshots and log files attached.

Kind regards, Luuk

the RESUME/PLAY starting screen did not appear.
That is the exact purpose of the process!

But you have an unrelated problem in those logs: You almost certainly have the Citrix Workspace problem.

Please see this thread on that, there's a link to a workaround too:

All the best!

As I say , there are workarounds in that thread so you can have Citrix and the game.
