Every time I reach civil tech 5 the game crashes the either the moment I open the tech bor or when picking a certain technology. No matter what civilization.
Afterwards music keeps playing for minutes and game is shown as running during that time

I guess if this happened to everyone we'd know by now!

Assuming no mods in use, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Imperator
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Imperator AND Documents/Paradox/Imperator folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Imperator or Documents Imperator locations, before installing again.

Did everything described in your post.

uninstalled imperator
manually deleted both folders
re-installed and verified
added imperator.exe to Avira's exception lists (I don't use Defender)
I never used mods

First attempt didn't solve the problem. So I gave it a second try. And did every single step again. This time I did not intergrate the old save game again afterwards, but started a new game.

Now game crashes after one or two years.
The problem got worse!

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Hello!

Are you playing with a non-English localisation selected?
If so, please try starting the game in English and see if the issue persists.

It appears that culture specific techs cause problems on non-english language settings.
