Creates a brief black window, then swipes right to a black screen, like creating a new workspace and crashes immediately

Just starting the game from Paradox Launcher 2023.8.1

From what you say the launcher itself is fine, is that right? If so I'm afraid its logs will tell us nothing about why the game is not starting from it.

Has it ever worked on this machine, or never yet?

Please attach this log file here:
~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

To find that file, in Finder do cmd-shift-G to bring up the GOTO box. In there paste ~/Library/ . You will see a /Logs/ folder, and inside that /Unity/ folder. Please attach that file player.log here by dropping it on this support ticket, or use the "Attach file" link here.

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Supposedly the latest MacOS version for your iMac 14,2 is 10.15.x yet you have 13.2.1 on it somehow! I didn't know that was even possible with the nVidia Macs ... ! Whether that's anything to do with your problem I'm not sure, but that log file is a worry as it just ends abruptly after the video is detected.


Please try a **clean** reinstall:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Cities Skylines/
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/<SteamID>/255710/
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/workshop/content/255710/
~/Library/Application Support/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines/
(first move the /saves/ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)

- Install the game again and see if it runs now.
