I have even tried closing all the programs outside the game. Yet the game sometimes just instantly closes and goes to desktop... and it lags a little after that too. I also have a very good Computer. 1200 MHZ... high quality graphics card and such. Is there a patch I can download? I'm open to any suggestions here. I want to play this game very badly!!!

I'm afraid I can't help you with the crashing problem, since I get it sometimes even with only Explorer and Systray running (both required for Win98). However, it usually seems to happen with certain events. I'll hear the trumpets sound, and see my desktop appear. I do have the game auto-save every year so I don't lose so much (and the pause tells me it's a new year).

I guess I should add that it has crashed a few times, not every time.

I have DX8 and I'm still getting crashes. The game has run fine for a week. Now it seems that it's crashing at a specific point in the year. I've loaded the autosave 3 times and it still crashes towards the end of year every time! Anyone had anything similar?

Not really but try loading the autosave and keep saving the game manually every month up to the event...that way you possibly can get around the crash or at least narrow it down to what is causing the crash...

It's crashed three times so far for me. Twice it was when I clicked on the 'go to' button in a message, the other time it just folded up for no apparent reason. A bit annoying but doesn't spoil the game for me, still hopefully a patch will fix it.

Huszics' FAQ?

Ummm... so where the heck would that FAQ be? A link, maybe? (the message site is quite complex, as you know).

By the way - I am EXTREMELY impressed at how much attention Paradox pays to these forums! You're an amazing company!

Cheers,

Richard.
