Game crashes suddenly at around late-game

This is a repeating problem with a campaign I'm doing for the second time. I'm doing a Prussia>Super Germany>EU campaign, at the time of writing this the ingame year is circa 1880's-90's, I have already formed the United States of Europe and I have around 80M population, all of a sudden the game crashes and it repeatedly does so every time I restart and unpause the game, I know a lot of pops can cause the performance to tank but I've never heard of or seen a case where it causes the game to outright crash. This is not the first time it's happening either, some months ago I did this exact campaign for the first time and the problem occurred at around 1930, at that time I went to Reddit in search for an answer or solution but nothing came of it. and so I am asking for support here, if any PDX devs or fellow players see this, I'd appreciate some assistance.
