Hey, I've been playing this ironman save for the past week or two, and I was hoping I could play the full game from 769-1453 and convert over to Eu4. But ever since I got home today, the game has been crashing whenever the save is in the save games folder. If I open the game with it in, the launcher instantly closes. If i put it in the folder while the launcher is running, it will crash when the game launches. If I put it in while the game is running, it crashes whenever I hit "load game". I really don't want to lose this save game, so if there's anything else i can do to fix this, please tell me.
The save game is attached below.

My game crashes when that save is in the folder too, so I'm afraid it is corrupted and unplayable.

Did you have a game or computer crash while playing it? That's the most common cause of such bad corruption.

No, I just got off the game and turned off my computer the other night, and then when I tried playing it yesterday it started crashing.

Hmmm, that's unexpected. Is it a cloud save or local?

It was a local save.

In other news, my new ironman game that I've been playing for over 250 years has also broken. This one just says save broken when I lost up the game though.

Honestly this is getting really annoying.

I can believe that! I do not know why this is affecting you like this, it is not a general issue.

What antivirus app do you use?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

To remove Avast completely you should use the free Revo Uninstaller utility, as AV apps are deliberately made hard to fully remove.

A couple of crashes in CK2 at the end of that dxdiag do look like ones typically caused by AV apps. But it's hard to connect that with your issue of save games getting corrupted.

See if getting rin of any remnants of Avast helps; not much I'm sorry but it's all I can see that might be doing this to you!

Are these saves local or Ironman? Whichever one, please try the other.
