Game Crashing after Launcher

I bought CKII on steam and got a little playtime with it before this bug. After clicking play on steam the game goes into the launcher fine. Then when I click the "Play CKII" button the game starts to launch but then the screen turns black and the game crashes with error "APPCRASH". Any help regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.

Moved from Bug Reports to Tech Support.

So you were able to play, then suddenly couldn't any more? That is odd. try launching it by double-clicking on ck2.exe rather than going through Steam, you may get a clearer error message.
